Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

The way they are handling the unveiling of their first product is why people are pulling their orders.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Custom artists who get in over their head will, from time to time, blame the negativity tossed at them as a hindrance to their completing work they were paid to do.
Because it takes them out of a mindset where they are motivated to work, and they claim they have to spend undue time responding to complainers instead of working. DarkArtist was one example that comes to mind. But has this happened with a burgeoning or established company? I don't know of it. But then, we don't really know what to make of Molecule8 yet. The Shrunken Head Studios example demonstrates that criticism could have tangible, negative effects on customers for companies with licensed products, as a result of the frustration that the person in charge is experiencing with that criticism.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Yes words like "work in progress" and "not "final product" which were right there in front of people yet amazingly go ignored.

Except on the lead up to the figure reveal molecule8 were posting these words on their Facebook.

Anticipation is growing as the final touches are made to John and the glass topped base.

Ahead of the final reveal we want to share some of our early development work on John's accessories.

With only two weeks until John Lennon is shown, we wanted to share more images of our earlier development of John's accessories.

Tough to deny there's nothing there that that leads you to believe that what they will be showing for their 'final reveal' will be 'test sculpts' or ill fitting clothes.

Sorry, I am arguing on a few fronts here. Are some of these lines meant to be quotes from M8?

But again, I am not saying folks should not be annoyed or are wrong to want refunds or whatever else, I am just only referring too the epic daft things being said.
I was asked to chime in with my opinion on Facebook and here. I was away at SDCC/Mexico at the time but as I was notified, I chimed in.
Despite being asked for my opinion I was constantly accused of "leaping in to defend M8" and still am. Do I need to explain why that is some epic stupid?
Now given I was away on holiday (with my girlfriend) this M8 situation was not a high priority funnily enough but yet again, the god of dumb knocks and he accuses me of 'suspecially going all silent'. As I said, it is all bit special and not one person seems to be registering this and just carrying on regardless. Folks want to think what they like, say what they like and even if proved wrong, they ignore it and carry on. They then get very testy if their intelligence is questioned! In my opinion, that behaviour doesn't deserve much respect. This is all that I am saying.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

If someone chooses to try and defend the indefensible then they are naturally going to end up being tainted by the very same brush. And much of what M8 has done up to this point is blatantly indefensible. Hyperbole is one thing, empty promises and outright lies are another thing entirely.

Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Hey guys!!

I GOT MY REFUND BACK JUST NOW!!!

Time to break out some [emoji898] oh crap I have to work in a few hours. I feel like having a drink! The stress has been lifted off my shoulders about this whole thing!

Know what happened? I chased a few people down on Facebook- Vijay Chadha, spoke to him via messaging late last night. Then I left a comment on their page.

Earlier this morning, someone who's in the charge of their social media sent me a message and they advised me to email a different guy named Jonson. They said they turned over their financial side of things to him, regarding to the cancellations and refunds.

Not long after that message, I quickly emailed Jonson. And within minutes Ajay Chadha emailed me, explaining why he wasn't responsive to my emails since Friday because he was out of town and he'd call PayPal again this afternoon to figure out how to solve the issue we're having with my refund. I was like "whatever!"

Then about a half hour ago, Jonson emailed me and told he he refunded my payment. Just like that! *snapping fingers*

What! I checked my PayPal and there it is! [emoji2]

I emailed Jonson back and thanked him. This guy took care of my refund immediately on the same day I emailed him.

Ajay Chadha strung me along for TWO WEEKS and gave me excuses after excuses.

The bottom line here, I don't care anymore and I'm so happy I got my money back!! Finally I can move on!

What's this word 'special' that you keep using Eamon?

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Glad to hear it amstel. Sometimes you have to be a greasy wheel in order to get treated in the way that you should have, by rights, been treated all along. Been there myself, and it's stressful and frustrating, but at least it all worked out for you in the end.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Yeah it was stressful and I'm glad I took action last night. It was definitely an eye opening for me. Thank you.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Was the stress worth it?

Guys on here seem to be willing to throw their money at anything with the knowledge that "hey I can get it back if I want so it costs me nothing"... but there's always a cost.

The cost in stress just doesn't seem worth it to me.

But if that person was asked for their opinion, isn't it a bit stupid to then accuse that person to leaping too their defense?
Isn't it also stupid to accuse a person of "suspecially going quite" when in fact you are on holiday?

I also don't see many here 'defending the indefensible' either. The message from the other side is proportionality, have a go at M8, be annoyed at M8 but there is a certain glee coming from folks and just a nasty needless tonne. Like if in some way M8 fails and it all goes totally belly up, some here give the impression that this would bring them no end of joy and want this to happen.

In most circles that bit's messed up.

Yes they are all from molecule8 from posts preceding the Lennon reveal, I have copied and pasted them verbatim.

They only really started saying the sculpts in the reveal were tests after the backlash started to hit.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

The problem is is that there's one particular poster in here who constantly exaggerates everything and puts an inflammatory tinge to everything he posts. But oh well. It's just a message board for toys. :lol

Not fair Pixletwin...I still have a pre-order through BBTS...am a big Lennon fan, KA Kim fan, and consider Taxi Driver to be my most wanted license...I also feel that Hot Toys has become complacent with incessant Super Hero figures and would like to see more diverse licenses be encouraged. I would love to be rooting for M8...they just need to give me something to root for which so far they have failed to do...nothing "inflammatory" about some guy (me) typing his honest opinion on this company and their practices in the specific language that happens to be running through my mind.
