Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

As I said just READ this entire thread and what they have promised and promoted since day ONE and DELIVERED nothing but poor work and cgi graphics. Do you honestly think there is one of those high tech super streamlined next generation skeletons inside that body?? That was nothing but a graphics exercise in someone's mind. There is no proof even hinted at that a prototype exists- and to put that in production? Maybe a year ALONE for that? That alone makes the rep this company has justified/ All because every claim they have made has nothing to back it.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I'd bet they didn't even build a proof-of-concept prototype. Building one in Maya/Max etc is a world away from getting one made, what with all the tolerancing and balance required at the making stage.

There is no endoskeleton!

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I was really hoping they would succeed because I was curious about the Ghostbusters license but have been put off by their operation so far. I think almost all of us were hoping for big things from them. They just set the bar too high for themselves.

Yeah, I think they kinda took the wrong approach to the bar too

Yep...to be honest all of my nasty comments about them are not the result of being happy that they failed but are simply the product of disappointment...the thought of a KA Kim DeNiro...oh well after they go belly up maybe Blitzway will get the Taxi Driver license...

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

I do see what folks are saying and it's all a bit if a mess really. I still think they will deliver but all things considered, I do get the anger and annoyance and how it all looks.

Folks should just avoid using term like "apologists" and "defenders" or thinking a person is only saying something because they work for them and draw stupid stretched conclusions, or accuse folks of suddenly 'going silent' when they are away on holiday. Ya compound that then with some deliberate pettiness and miss reading, it paints a picture. There is a lack of understanding and a sense if entitlement by some (not all) and between here and Facebook, it's get tired constantly seeing that not a little more appreciation of the work involved.

I won't say anything more on this. As you were. :)

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

There are a lot of companies that take their time, or don't deliver what they promise. And generally it's not a huge deal. The misleading comments on when the figure would be delivered have been annoying, but I think there are two primary factors that set them apart from others: 1) they took money upfront. No one was obligated to pay of course, but that means people have more skin in the game. However, the vast majority should be able to file a Paypal dispute, and probably should if they have any reservations at all; 2) this company obtained lots of highly desired licenses, and put out some really impressive initial bits of marketing with the fantastic Lennon sculpt, fancy body, and really great looking CG accessories. That's a double edged sword, because it builds up hype when someone is good at this, but it also means there can be a real crash when expectations aren't met. Most companies putting out an unlicensed Rick from Walking Dead or whatever aren't going to show you something that looks nearly this impressive upfront, so when you get something that looks disappointing, it's no biggie, because there was not big build-up to begin with.

The ridicule has gone a bit overboard at times--what else is new on the internet?--but at the end of the day what matters isn't what boardies here think or complain about. It's what the company delivers. If they meet or exceed initial expectations, all will be forgiven, and this company could have a real shot at changing the 1/6 scale game. If they don't, they probably won't succeed, and there will be more criticism. But again, it's not the end of the world, and nothing we haven't seen before.

Times like these when tempers flare and feelings are shared in print on positions of passion, we need to all pause and take notice of what is truely important here. The music.

For your listening pleasure, one of Yoko's creative masterpieces and a best version no less.

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

many people preordered have already asked for a refund. now m8
got no money to develop their prototype, let alone the final figure.
i really doubt they can deliver anything now! they really revolutionised
the figure industry, but in a disgraceful way.

My biggest complaint on them is when they announced all this, Molecule8 proclaimed to turn the high end collectible word on it ear with super attention to detail. Then loading their website with renders of what will come. Then when prototype is actually shown, the items are average to crude and not even close to the offerings of in-expensive bootlegger, let alone from current top dog, Hot Toys.

Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

That song is anecdotally interesting as well since it is the song Lennon was carrying when he was murdered.

Yep, that is why it is considered her most popular track. Not that the music is any good but that John carried it provokes people to listen to it to see what's the fuss. It's like a soundtrack to cheesy erotica porn.
