Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Hope your wrong about the date

Have they even procured a factory yet? Do they think they're just going to approach a factory and have the figure produced immediately? Bunch of amateurs.

My guess is no final prototype = no factory....so no figure in the immediate future (if ever).

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Yup, they’re still refining on the prototype for mass producing

Re: Molecule8 - 1/6th Scale John Lennon

Ordered Ripley in May 2016. Still waiting. This is not new.

There was a prototype for Ripley in May 2016...in May 2016 Howard Chan did not claim that the figure was going to be released in May of 2016 and when questioned about the implausibility of the claim did not insist that it would be delivered in May of 2016 only to deliver...nothing...Hot Toys also did not claim that Ripley was finished and sitting in a warehouse somewhere waiting to give retailers a chance to list her...they did not show bad CG renders to accompany that claim and state the the renders were to give "insight into the process." Oh, and Hot Toys has released everything that they have ever taken pre-order money on so there's that too...yeah...this is definitely new...

I can't?

I've put money up front on almost every HT figure I own. Generally, they set a date about six to ten months from the pre-order date. Many times, this date is blown and you get the "delayed" email (I've gotten three in the last month or so). Every so often it's very delayed. Many times, the painted prototype they showed me to sell me on it does not resemble the final product I receive (usually with no periodic updates to show me the changes). Sometimes there is something about the figure or accessories that seems cheap or short on quality. I'm not alone on this - read any thread.

Bad customer service and public relations are one thing. A new company not delivering an ambitious first product on time is not a big surprise. That company wanting to get orders up front to guage interest and have working capital is also no surprise. Not when the biggest company doing these figures does the same thing.

Yes, they over-promised. Hopefully they'll deliver something close or decent. But it's only been five months since thier over ambitious due date. Say what you want about how they've handled communication, but the constant snark even when it's something positively addressed is tiring. I'm guessing most of you didn't or aren't even ordering it.

Someone on OSR did a very comprehensive of HT preorder vs delivery date on almost each product they produced and HT pass with flying colors in comparison to any other toy producers. Bear in mind HT produces average of 50-60 characters annually not including cosbaby.
Now, you want to be supportive towards M8 with their antics is fine but you have to bear in mind this company has never produced any figure hence no precedence of record, the only reason people look at them and order is all thanks to KA Kim reputation, for a start up project. Besides, without any reputation, it is absolutely stupid for M8 to keep lying about everything.

Awaiting the same barrage of counter arguments on how they flat out lied and swindled us with shady practices yadda yadda yadda... from the same few people.

And the wheels on the bus go round and round...

Yes, they produce a lot. They have the means to, and a well-established production pipeline. And they still miss dates.

As I said, and have said several times on this thread, they have not handled the communication well. For some reason the attacks ballooned pretty quickly early on and I don't think they were ready for them. HOWEVER, most of the activity on here is from people who have no intention or interest in ordering Lennon and just jump in to attack even when it's something positive. It's a little much. How about you just wait and see.

I ordered. If I get nothing, well...fool me once. But the fact that this has gotten as far as it has; using Lennon's name and image, securing distribution, paying a top sculptor, paying for show space and making prototypes, makes me pretty confident that this is not the vaporware that the conspiracy theorists on here think it is.

We don't need to go through the mountain of verifiable lies and deceptions again we?

How many times did Ht push back Ripley officially?

That will be Hot Toys b**** Budget Stark im guessing :lol
I wonder how Hot toys went on when they released there first figure, I bet it wasn't such well oiled machine as it is now, And yes I know they probably didn't promise the earth or take pre-orders before showing the product but I bet they didn't put nowhere near as much effort into it as Lennon seems to be getting, I have never seen such minuscule metal framed mass produced glasses in all my time as collector.
I actually couldn't give two flying ****s how long it takes or what they say, if they deliver to me an outstanding Lennon and from what I see it looks to be getting there I'll be happy.

And you still haven't, you've seen a picture of one pair of prototype glasses, not even close to being mass produced.
