I think that LOTRfans pic is pretty accurate. Mine is about the same color of red, maroon, or whatever. It is an amazing statue. Even the helmeted head is very cool. I never realized from the pics that the pony tail is different on the helmeted head...

Black, chainmail? I must have missed that tangent it wasn't even on the prototype. I assume you are talking about a random shot of a Moria Orc that you found; we certainly have seen that there was quite a variation within their costumes.

As for regrets, no not one - not only was he close to free with my Rewards Points, but he looks great on display, perfect with Frodo.

:clap

I actually got it from Dave using the appendix as a measure of accuracy.
true, it wasn't on the proto. But I wouldn't mind paying alittle extra. I don't get why they would cut corners on such things.

As for the black undergarments, no clue how they missed that. they all wear it, and it's even on the weta statue.

Sucks that you would lose the initial shipping cost and would have to pay for return shipping on the Indy PF Faken. I guess SS doesn't think the dark tan is an actual problem. Like I said earlier it doesn't bother me as long as I have decent light on him, maybe it was their intention all along to make him that dark.

Well mine seems to be a lot darker than most people are showing, because mine is dark even in direct sunlight or bright lights and it sucks big time. His face is the same color as the brown diamond shapes on the base so it looks fairly ridiculous. I am going to send mine to my friend Joe Dunaway for a repaint in the new year :)

Is your friend on the forum? I'm interested in making his head more realistic if you have have any recommendation.

Thanks,

i'm really surprised that this hasn't gone up for second chance yet, with all the whining and cancelling going on.

Really? It is common SS tactic to wait for 10-25 days after a product begins shipping to put it up for second chance because this allows for any concerned collector to impatiently sign up for the waitlist and have it convert almost instantaneously (not all the time though).

oh i see, i was just comparing this to the rogue com, that went up for second chance last week sometime i think, but i'm not sure which of these were released first or how far apart they were.

Yeah you'll have to wait for the EU batch to ship for it to happen. But then again they claimed that almost nobody called them up on this problem anyways so this 150 page thread is all imaginary. Nothing to see here, move along, move along. :sick

what is this red that everyone is complaining about? :D

For me the helmeted head is a must, the regular head actually looks a bit undersized by comparison.

You gonna have his clothes weathered at all Chris, or leave him as is?

Have to wait and see it in person. I may ask DA for some paint tips to try and rough it up a bit so it doesn't look so f'n new. But then again he'll be on the bottom shelf with Frodo and there isn't a lot of light hitting that shelf so I probably won't even be able to tell once he's in his spot.

#76 in the house.

Hopefully I can leave work early enough to open it up before I head to my parents
