Agreed, the data used to play as them could be better served for classic character skins.

That's why I don't pay any attention to the actual story or continuity of these outside the first two games. Skarlet is the only new character I like/use since Trilogy.

Yeah, I've always been conflicted with the MK "mythos". Especially for MK9 - my love for the amount of gameplay and the lengthy story mode was hindered by the fact that the story was dumb as ****.

Better characters? I think it's pretty equal. And I couldn't even tell you the story of the last game, because there wasn't one.

I like both series but I think story and background wise, MK has actually made an effort to have a them compared to SF. The last few MK games actually had stories to go with the games whereas I dont remember a single bit of story in street fighter 4.

The King Of Fighters had better story than both Street Fighter & mortal combat, until they came up with the clones plot.
