I personally feel that if I hadn't used PayPal I would still be chasing my £200.
They refunded me and told me it would take ten days, after ten days I received an email saying the refund had failed
I then opened a PayPay dispute and had the money in ny account next day.

Not really any good for pre-orders as their protection only lasts for 30 days, as far as I'm aware.
I wouldn't feel comfortable having £1,400 worth of orders with any company, apart from Sideshow direct. With whom I have more than that but they only hold the deposit anyway.

Yeah it used to be 45 days Col but evil bay/Paypal shortened it in Jan 2014. Yeah buying more and more from SS direct (you get is soooooo early and its normally 2-3 days shipping here) although CD and Lee have been awesome so far.

I had a little interaction with CollectiblesDirect (voiced concerns about the Iron Studios IM paint app) and it was really smooth. Lee swapped my P-O item in no time at all. I've got my Celtic Pred on p-o with them and their flexpay looks great. I had a fairly smooth order with OSB in the past (although, I received an invoice when I'd paid in full, which was sorted sharpish tbf) CDUK, OSB, and Forbidden Planet will be my go-to companies from now on.

In the meantime, I'd just really like to see my HT Scar and 1/4 DKR get shipped out by MB in the next 2 weeks. If not, I've got some aggrovation to deal with from the sounds of things!

CD lost a life sized batman bust in the post and in less than an hour of emailing rang me to tell me another one was being sent out!

Forbidden planet (com NOT co.uk) are obviously a robust company that it is safe to leave some cash with as well

I mainly use Forbidden Planet and Collectibles Direct. FP don't take any deposits for pre-orders so you don't even have to worry about leaving any cash with them, they only take your money when they ship it (lesson there for MB!). CD require a deposit but I've only good things to report about their service, You'd think Lee sits at his desk awaiting my emails considering the speed he replies. I've sent a few queries in the past and I think he's replied to every one within about 10 minutes! Pretty amazing really, not sure if I've just got lucky.

CDUK understands how good customer relations work. Hope everyone gets their stuff sorted out in the end.

Don't forget to repeatedly remind him you've sent a PM via his thread :wink1:

Their recent post on Facebook about not being able to reply to phone calls has received a number of comments from customers - when you click to read them, they have all been deleted. This is worrying stuff.

I honestly think they are on the verge of collapsing. I can't believe customers are still waiting for the HT 1/4 Batman from AUGUST 2013!!

I can see the police/fraud department/ Trading Standards being brought in in the very near future....

I have just tried to log into my account on their site and I cannot access it. My password and username are correct - nothing.
I requested a 'reset password' email - nothing.

I'm not sure but it seems like they have deleted my account.

Ehhh... August? I thought it arrived in stock in December?? How could MB receive their stock 1 month before HK did???

But you can't blame MB for the waiting period prior to the figure being released!!

What I can't understand is the people who pay in full for an item on pre-order, that is not out for months. Why the hell would you do that? I know sometimes you get a discount but if the company goes under you lose all your money. I like to pay for things when they are available, I'll stomach a deposit if I have to but I would never pay in full for a pre-order. That money is better off in my pocket.

Which is why I went for their paybreak option. Paid my deposit in August and was then invoiced for the remainder in November when the figure was supposedly in stock. Only it wasn't in stock, and I'm beginning to wonder if it ever was or will be.

Yeah that wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, I meant generally. There are people who have said they paid in full when they ordered.

These people are crazy. I know when I was a kid I needed someone to look after my money or I'd just waste it all on sweets and fizzy pop, but now I'm a proper grown up, not so much.

I'm not - I was stating that that was when the pre-order was placed - that is how long the company have had the customer's money / or at least the deposit followed by the remaining payment.

However, Mother's Basement original release date was September 2013 for the 1/4 Scale Dark Knight and people are still waiting for theirs having paid in full. Therefore, I don't think one month really makes much difference when the wait time has been half a year.

The figure was received by the UK wholesaler in December. Any complaint about MB having money prior to that point is irrelevant as is their original release date. They have control over what happens when they get it, not dates and delays prior to that. Anybody paying for a figure up front knows it may be delayed.

God, I'm not getting into another argument in this thread

Just seen this thread , and have to say all my purchases have been sound , I was well happy with my life size ss captain america bust nib for £250.
But also must say that all the items have been in stock.
I will let you know if and when I receive my ip premium format that is pre ordered.

This is the entire problem though.

Why? Surely you take any release date with a pinch of salt. You haven't posted 3,420 times on here and not realised that release dates quoted by suppliers are at the very best, pure guesswork loosely based on what Sideshow tell the wholesaler. When have you ever had a figure that came out on the date the supplier quoted? I've never seen it.

I don't think anyone is disappointed here in regard to a delays in manufacture or international distribution meaning delays in a preorder. It happens with SS all the time after all. You might moan about it but you expect it in this hobby I think.

However I think there are many disappointed with this simple fact....Normally when pre-orders do arrive they ship out to those that have ordered well within a 6 week period;) If that is impossible, accurate honest information with a defined shipping date needs to be given and then stuck to so your customers know what is going on.
