At least you got the points back. Hopefully, you'll get some better luck in the future.

The other posters that I've received off of them have all been fine. I'm not one to really complain about anything, but the condition of the Tron Poster was really bad where I had to speak up. Glad I did.

Yeah, I don't blame you. One is one too many though, IMO. As you said, it can't hurt to speak up. :lecture

Damn I like that Pirates one. May have to get that one.

Had not known about the issues with their shipping. I never checked my Tron poster. Have to go home and do that now :(

I'm assuming this one will be DS - I believe the Tron one was, right? I like this one too, but there's a Blackbeard like it that I haven't seen around yet that's even better.

I've been on a bit of a 70's - 80's kick lately. Picked up the following in the last couple weeks:

Big Top Pee Wee rolled
Seven rolled
Doctor Detroit folded
Head Office folded
Nijinksy rolled
China Syndrome folded
Dreamscape rolled
Red Sonja rolled
Something Wicked This Way Comes folded
Blow Out folded
Sheena rolled
American Werewolf in London rolled
Superman 2 folded
Last Starfighter rolled
My Bodyguard folded
Young Sherlock Holmes rolled
Bachelor Party rolled
Police Academy 2 rolled
Cotton Club rolled

Obviously I always prefer rolled when I can find them, but I picked these all up cheap, anywhere from a $1 each to $20, depending on the poster and condition. And while some might seem odd, I've also been on a Drew Struzan kick (which is why I picked up Police Academy 2 and Dreamscape) and Amsel (which is why I grabbed Nijinsky).

So I've been on this eighties/Struzan kick lately, and I'm looking around at some other ebay dealers. I always like to test them out with a couple small purchases first, see what I get.

So has anyone dealt with bradburied? I bought three posters from him - Runaway Bride (yea, it's for my wife, back off), Golden Child and Batteries Not Included. Runaway Bride is fine, no complaints. But he had advertised both Batteries and Golden Child as 27x41, and being later half of 80's that made sense. However, when I got them, they were both 27x40. Batteries has an NSS number though, and looks legit, and by 1987 that was possible. Still, I searched around and found some folks claiming that they had 27x41 Batteries posters, so I'm not sure. The Golden Child is more complicated, since it has no NSS#, and I think it really should be 41". Anyone here have either of these posters that they can verify the exact size?

I think we really need an online database of all movie posters from 1970 to the present day giving sizes and specifics on original releases. It amazes me that such a beast does not exist.

On another note, I've been dealing with a dealer named 'oceancat' and been extremely pleased with the quality of his 80's originals.

Iv'e bought a few posters off bradburied, it was about 5 years ago at least, they were legit. I don't remember off hand which posters they were but I'm pretty sure they were 80's movies.

Thanks! I'm hopeful, I just wish I could find someplace where they actually had legit info you could depend on. The problem is that while there might be auctions on ebay for a poster like Batteries Not Included that says 27x41, that doesn't mean it is - just like bradburied did, a bunch of these dealers just assume the size without actually checking.

Actually, the teaser did hit awhile back, but never in very big numbers. I expect we'll see a lot more in the next month.

I've dealt with Bradburied with no problems in the past - I'd imagine that the size is just from a template and he forgot to change it.

I actually have both these posters buried somewhere. If I remember correctly neither of them have a white border? Also IIRC, borderless posters were almost always 27x40.

I'll try and dig them out this weekend and measure.

Usually before I buy a poster I try and do some research on Lamp for sizes and different styles, they are pretty good for the basics.

I've gotten a few posters here and there that in the description have been wrong in the sizing but like Dave mentioned lotta sellers just have a template and forget to change the sizes.

I haven't purchased directly myself, but doing a little research on the seller kinda turned me off. I think I was on movieposterforum.com and they were discussing him. It was either people liked the guy and thought he was legit or people disliked him and they he sold "some" reprints. However, it was pretty much unanimous that if you had a problem he was a bear to deal with.

I will say he seems to have some pretty good deals if what he has truly is legit. If you keep buying off of him and don't seem to have a problem let us know and maybe I'll take my chances.

Yea, I'm getting a weird vibe off him as well. I'm going to treat him as a maybe seller.

As to good dealers, I've recently been dealing with oceancat, and gotten some very nice stuff at good prices.

Got my POTC On Stranger Tides poster from DMR. Why do they shove the paperwork in the tubes like that and why do I keep using my rewards points on these? i received my 2nd damaged poster from them (the first being the Tron poster)....
