ENDO-HUNTER
Super Freak
Ok , I learned that a DREMEL is your best friend when doing this kind of work. My hat goes off to guys like XenoViper , DarkArtist81 and Les Walker who's creations have inspired me to give this a try. Ok , in the first photo you will see the HOT TOYS body I chose to start with.
I started the customizing off with a Endo leg I took off of a KOTOBUKIYA VINYL Battle Damaged Terminator figure I picked up. I cut off the endo portion of the leg where I wanted it and after removing the calf portion of the Hot Toys body discovered it had the post with full articulation. I then drilled the right size hole in the endo leg and glued it in place.
I then proceeded to use the endo arm that came with my Kyle Reese figure. I removed the forearm of the Hot Toys figure and it revealed the same post with full articulation. This time it was a little more tricky. The post was too thick so I cut it off making sure it still gave me articulation and drilled a small hole in what remained of the post of the forearm. I then inserted a nail for a much stronger post to give it maximum strength then glued the endo arm to the Hot Toys elbow.
Last but not least I sliced off the chest damage from the KOTOBUKIYA Terminator vinyl figure dremeled it to the desired size and thickness. I traced it to the chest of the Hot Toys figure and dremeled out a cavity so it would fit fairly flush and epoxied it into place. Added a little epoxy for torn flesh around the wound and there you have it.
I am new at mixing paint for blood effect but mixing a tiny bit of brown into the red gave it a nice realistic color I was looking for. The blood effect around the chest wound will be partially covered by his torn shirt anyway. That goes the same for the LEG and ARM. I will be shredding the sleeve and pant leg for the best battle damaged look.
NOTE:The head sculpt I will be using for my custom I take no credit for as it was created by our very own DarkArtist81. As you can see in the photo below his battle damaged Arnold head sculpt will be the icing on the cake so to speak. Proportionally everything is working out well. And with the clothing on it it will really fill it out nicely. I have all the clothes to burn and weather along with a nice lace up military black jacket and cool black lace up military boot. I will post more photos as I get closer to finish. Hope you like what I have done so far. This is my first. Mike
