UGLY game! I have been celebrating and watching all the post game stuff til now. Kobe is my guy, but he really didn't play too well. He got his rebounds and locked ppl up on D, but in all fairness he didn't do well.
He sure as hell deserves this though. Best player in the world for what? almost fifteen straight years now? Fish is the man. So bad-ass and sooo classy.
I am so hoarse right now from screaming for the Lakes. LO and Ron Ron played real well. Ron impressed me.

Also: Hats off to the Celtics. As much as I hate the C's, they played a great game / series. KG is awesome I have much respect for that guy and Rondo is a stud. I was, however, really disappointed w/ Doc Rivers saying after the game that, ' no one has really beaten their team since Perkins was out and they haven't had a chance to really defend their 08' title, etc.' I thought it was classless and in really bad taste. Phil wasn't crying about not having Bynum in 08', and everyone who knows anything knows if the Lakes had lost Kobe wouldn't have made up some BS about it was his BROKEN finger, his ankle, his knee, or his back spasms. Or because Bynum could barely run properly out there and missed most of the game. I just thought Doc R would leave that crybaby excuse making crap to the likes of Danny Ainge, but I guess he is one of em'

Congrats to the Lakers! Better team won last night IMO. It was a great ugly game but when it mattered most the Lakers stepped up.

CONGRATS!!!

Be happy that the Lakers won the series instead of _____ing over what the Celtics coach said after the game. It was a very good series and it came down the wire. Both teams played their hearts out, but the Lakers played just a little bit better.

Finals thoughts...

When you think of it, the Celts starters played well. Garnett played well, Pierce played fairly well, Rondo played extremely well, Sheed scored critical inside points and Ray played the best cover D on Kobe I've ever seen, it was Hall of Fame D. It's unfortunate about Perkins but Drew was crippled and a non factor.

I still don't know how we won is what Kobe said, but Lakers D and Rebounds really is what won it when you consider the ONLY advantage we had besides that was FTs and we blew it on the line. The Instant Classic replays will show Pao's efforts in the very end, along with Artest's game of a lifetime were the difference. Celts actually played really well, they just got exhausted towards the end. It was a brutal, brutal game. One of the most highly contested D efforts in NBA History IMO.

Sir P, I know you a true fan with us!!!!
:rock

Not a Lakers or Celtics fan. This series reminded me why I seldom watch the NBA. Bad calls from the refs on both ends and players complaining every time they think they get fouled. Lakers getting 21 free throws in the 4th quarter vs. Celtics 6. Both teams were playing physical D, but I couldn't stand to see this game decided at the free throw line thanks to poor officiating.

According to very early numbers, last night's nail-biting Game 7 of the NBA Finals will probably set an all-time record for ABC. The game, won by the LA Lakers, averaged an 18.2 overnight rating, making it the highest-rated NBA playoff game on ABC ever and the top NBA game overall since 1998 (Bulls/Jazz).

Oh trust I am happy. LOL. I am trying to see if I can get down to the parade on Monday to continue celebrating.

I was just saying both teams played well and boston was a great team. I just think that is what any good sport or competitor should do; give real credit where it is due. It is the best way to win and loose. It is class. . . . . Just pointing out that Doc did none of that. I wouldn't really consider it b____ing, because A) Its Doc, that sort of crap is expected sadly. and B) it may sound like that to a C's fan of course, who has face the world again today. LOL.

Next several days couldn't be better :yess::yess::yess:

Congrats to the greatest player in the NBA, Kobe Bryant...you deserve it.

Also, Congrats to the only TRUE Laker fans on this forum, Ill and Bodie. The rest of you bandwagoners can suck a ____.

really? guess you know everyone don't you? Classy.

I have to agree with Zodach regarding the current state of the NBA concerning the refereeing. I know the human element is part of the game and calls will be missed due to the speed of the game, but still, I don't understand how Kevin Garnett didn't get the and 1 continuation in the first half of a Kobe bump while Ron Artest did in the second half on a Paul Pierce bump. Very similar plays.

Also, the refs clearly missed Gasol coming down before releasing his shot in crunch time.

Regardless, congrats to the Lakers. Who thinks Phil is staying?

NBA refs will always blow until they switch them to robots imo. Of course Phil will come back, they will be the favs again next year, so why not another title to feed the ego?
