Honestly, if the Spurs dont win it all, as long as the Heat and Mavs dont win, Im happy.

Lakers win all the time already so Im use to hearing them talk by now. I dont like the Lakers but I respect the hell out of Kobe and truly believe he earns whatever championships he wins.

I like Rose and the baby Bulls, my buddy is a big Chicago-everything fan so Ill be happy for him. Celtics are okay I guess, I dont like KG very much anymore but I can live with them winning.

But I cannot STAND the Heat or Mavs. The thought of them winning it all makes me sick...

Heard this all before with alll the 4-peat talk and we all saw how that turned out...dont count your chickens...

I'm not claiming a 4peat just yet we still need to get #17 under the belt. You should know that I don't start proclaiming the next title until that year is upon us. But good luck to the challengers that will be trying to stop us along the way.

I don't care what you Jordan lovers say, but Kobe's the man bum ankle, broken finger, pulled groin, broken pinkie finger and all. He still gets the job done! I hope you guys seen the man in the 4th tonight against Portland, being the great closer that he is. Jordan could never play a season through injuries as he can, and I mean never! Yeah I know I'm going to hear the flu game, but that's nothing like playing the whole season with broken fingers. Having to change your shooting form in mid-season. That's greatness baby, and you better believe it!...

I have to agree. I don't think there is any player in the league that can play through injury like kobe can-(Not even Iverson can come close and he use to get banged up every night by driving the lanes and getting hit by big men). That crazy spranged ankle would put most people on crutches, and he comes out 20 mins later to play some more?! The guy can take pain. As much as I dislike his ball-hogging tendencies at times, especially when he's having an off shooting night, you gotta respect kobe for his mental toughness and no-excuses, play-at-all-costs attitude for the love of the game.

But sometimes I worry that he takes this too far, and will one day perminantly destroy his body(if he hasn't already). I'd much prefer him to rest and let his body heal before playoffs then to force himself to play through crazy injuries.

Love him or hate him, you gotta respect the man for never making any excuses. He just sucks it up(without b$tching or complaining), and gives it his all, night in and night out. Even if I wasn't a laker fan, I'd still be giving Kobe props and madd respect.

(But I still think Jordan was probably the greatest player ever to play the game - no disrespect to kobe of course=)

This year...WHO DOESN'T Like their chances... ALL top tier TEAMS this year have had their rough spots.

I'm really hoping to get a chance to bust the SUPER FRIENDS when all the marbles are on the table. If I had a choice of the team I would like to play in th Finals, it would be these guys...

Even if we have different opinions, I respect this 100%, because you're in good hands with both players. But it has taken me a good 10 years of his 15 year career to come to love and repect Kobe the way that I have come to respect him. Don't think he'll really be appreciated until it's all said and done. Like I said before I don't think we'll ever see another player like him in a Lakers jersey, and I'm just soaking it all in while I can. Because I'm going to really miss him when he's gone...:(

Love all the rest of your comment...:clap

I honestly hope the Heat play the Lakers in the Finals. As I mentioned before, the Lakers are the team to beat and it would be fitting for the old dynasty to pass the torch to the new one... ;)

Lakers fans should indeed be worried if this scenerio were to come true. Putting aside the fact that the Heat have convincingly beaten the Lakers twice this year, the matchups just don't look good for the Lakers.

No trash talking, here. Simply saying that it would most probably be the best Finals scenerio for both basketball fans and for network ratings.

I agree. I'm worried more about the heat then I am the celtics. It seems like Lebron has Kobe's number when their teams play against each other. Even when Lebron was in Cleveland, the Lakers had problems beating him. I hope the heat don't make it past the celtics or bulls=)

Me too. It's taken me a good 10 to 15 years to eventually like and respect kobe. I didn't like what went down between him and shaq. I liked shaq's fun-loving personality better than kobe's arrogance at the time. But after reading about how shaq was always lazy every summer, showing up out of shape and always injured because of it, I began to understand why Kobe lost respect for his leader(at the time).

And you're also right that there will always be kobe haters out there, but hey, after all the hard work, and sacrifices that he is making on his body for the love of this game, he deserves to be a little arrogant once in a while I guess. You either grow to love him or you hate him. He is a once in a life time player. I will miss him when he's gone as well.
I feel your post buddy.

Thats assuming teams like LA, OKC, Chicago, Orlando, etc don't have something to say about that.

As far as my feeling on Kobe. He's a great player and gives everything he has on the court to help his team win. There are plenty of things he's done earlier in his career that really made me dislike him. Plus when he came out all I heard was the next Jordan talk before he had done anything. Kind of how people get pissed with Lebron. Now, after watching Lebron last summer and kind of realzing a few things Kobe is the closest thing we've seen to Jordan and might see. He's a winner like Jordan and will give of his body to help the team win like Jordan.

Now, I'm sure this part will sound like a homer but the next guy in line I think that can do great things and will his team to victory I think can be Rose. That kid is like Jordan and Kobe in his dedication and want to win. I for the first time since Jordan left Chicago feel like we're in good hands and his supporting cast is really good too.

That's the reg season and that means nothing in the playoffs...i.e...2008 Lakers team. We swept Boston in the reg season, and the Finals was a totally different story. The reg season means nothing compared to the playoffs, and having to play the same team 7 times to win 4. But if you think what happens in the reg season is an indication of what might happen in the playoffs, you are going to be in for a real surprise. I remember in 2001 the Spurs swept us 4-0 in the reg. season, and then in the playoffs we swept them.

Just saying...:)
