Being in the public eye isn't the only problem, I mean that sucks in a way for him...but his and his parents' self created lifestyle probably did him in. I mean, you're catered to since being a child, being an athelete's son, probably worshipped at HS, go straight to the NBA after HS, go to a highprofile team in a highprofile city your rookie season, etc. He probably never heard the word "no" in his life.
I do sympathize a little because if he wasn't famous this ho would not have slept with him, probably, but also we all know Kobe has a very strong, demanding ego and has done very aggressive physical things to people on the court that are "bending" the rules.
Is it really surprising to see he put himself in a position to be accused of taking more from a woman than she wanted to give? I mean someone like Byron Scott or AC Green or James Worthy (just to pick a bunch of Lakers) being alledged that stuff would have shocked me. Kobe? Almost could say "saw that coming."

you can hate on Kobe all you want - we all do it with different players - but the whole rape thing is just stupid, it didn't happen so let it go.
I also hated Jordan - because he wasn't on the Lakers- but i didn't hold his problems as a human against him.
Hating players through a game is one thing but calling someone a rapist because he cheated on his wife is another, but i guess in Prog's world you make mistake and you can never be forgiven - don't be wrongly accused of murder with prog around.

I was watching Shaq & Cedric's Comedy Jam from this year's All Star Game and Aries Spears was one of the performers. At the end of his set Rasual Butler (Forward from the Hornets) was interviewing him, after it was over Spears said, "Now I'll know what it's like to get some of that NBA ^^^^^". Butler just had that "Ooookay we're done here" look on his face!
