Preordered mine from Gamestop. Just a little over $90 so I'm happy. This piece looks awesome, and since I missed the HT 1/6 version, I'm stoked to have this in my collection and glad I didn't have to pay 3 times the price.

The cowl colour seems to be the wrong shade, sadly. Body and cape matches.

Looking ag my Batman, they are the same shade of semi glass black but the torso has a smoother sculpt so its more reflective. The cowl is sculpted more rough but its the same semi gloss

I didn't bring my computer with me for this trip. Does anyone know how I can upload some pics online with an Androis phone so I cam share some nice pictures?

You already have yours? Where'd you get it and how does he look in hand?

I wrote a quick review 2 pages ago. I am traveling in Hong Kong right Now. Batman1989 just arrived last night

The figure itself is awesome and NECA completely schooled Hot Toys by including a foldable Batarang
The cape does have any hidden wires like Hot Toys but beyond that is pretty similar

Overall this is a great Batman figure and it definitely honors the one true Batman - Michael Keaton in 1:4 scale

Oh I read that. Just didn't realize it was an actual review and thought you were only sharing your thoughts about the promo pics/info about the figure. Glad to hear you like it!

My main concerns from what I've seen and read so far:
1. Did NECA F up the face paint apps? Specifically, is he cross-eyed?
2. Does the cape material fall naturally? I saw you mentioned that it's not wired.
3. Are the joints well-hidden and look good in person?
4. Is he unable to stand on his own like all of NECA's other 1/4 figs?

Guess I was just too excited last night. Didn't mention I got him last night.

Seriously I think this is NECA's best 1:4 scale human figure to date. Batman's not "hyper articulated" like the old Toybiz Spider-man2 18" figure but the "elbrow" and knee swivel allows a great range of movement. The crotch area is made with a soft rubber like material similar to the Adam West Batman but I feel like it's even more softer this time.
I havent had much time to play around with him yet but I was able to stand him up. I'm not too sure how does NECA's ankle joints work. It's the same as West Batman with very small range of front and back movement but it does rotate 360.
The headsculpt does have a good likeliness of Michael Keaton's chin. The paint job is a great improvement then the previous releases. The eyes look great. Just make sure both eye are painted the same level slightly staring up. It's hard to tell but the eyes are in fact blue. This time NECA fully took advantage of the 1:4 scale. There's gaps between the cowl lining and the face. It really feels like there's a face underneath the cowl. Something Hot Toys wasn't able to do. If you stretch out the upper cowl, you can see a sculpt nose underneath too, something I wasn't expecting.

Why does he look so angry and unamused? It's like somebody pissed in his Cheerios.

Thanks for posting those fantastic pictures!!!

What material is the cowl made of? It almost looks like it's made out of rubber or is it a soft plastic? I certainly hope it's plastic or it may start to dry rot like the rubber on most Hot Toys figures.

Thanks for the pics and review! He looks pretty badass in the pics. I never realized the batarang folds into fours! Always thought it just folded in half. Also, the paint apps look pretty decent for NECA. The chin and belt could definitely use a black wash, but other than that, I can't really complain given the scale, great sculpt and reasonable price. Pretty awesome that they actually sculpted the face and mask separately! When you said to make sure the eyes are at the same level and staring up, does that mean you saw other figures with uneven eyes? Hope that's not the case since I ordered mine online and can't check for QC issues...

Yeah, it's not like we can really inspect these things.

His eyes do look fantastic though. I'd say those are the best eyes NECA has done to date.

Only QC issue I see are those warped gauntlet blades.

Oh yeah, those are really warped... but you'd probably be able to heat them up and straighten them out pretty easily. I also noticed that the hands are a little too glossy, but that could also be easily fixed with a quick spray of clear matte finish. A lot of little nit picks, but so far they all seem pretty minor and correctable.

That's a good looking 1/4
Keaton all the way for a solid price

I mostly just lurk around here but man, that looks SO good it pulled me outta the woodwork! Can't wait for my preorder to arrive at the comic shop! This is the Batman toy I've wanted since I was 7 years old! It's singlehandedly turning me into a NECA fanboy.
:panic::blissy:panic:

Oy, if they somehow got the license to do an OT Darth Vader and it came out as good as this looks...
:thud:

I was thinking the same exact thing. a NECA 1/4 Darth Vader would be amazing.

this figure was $63 shipped on black friday from toy wars I never heard of them but cant wait to get it

This looks fantastic. And I agree if they could churn out a vader of this quality that would be awesome
