Re: 1/4 NECA Batman 1989 Keaton

So they are doing a 1/4 Man of Steel? Nice. I really hope for a 1/4 Nolan Batman and Joker and Reeve Superman too.

Yeah I'm looking forward to this. If it turns out halfway decent it will detract me from buying a HT version unless I'm totally enamored by the movie. Thinking about getting the NECA 1/4 Ironman too. Then I'll just have to spring for the EB QS Bats eventually.

Wow, this actually looks really good. Funnily enough having moved into 1/4 scale across my collection the only two Hot Toys I kept were CR Superman and Keaton Bats.

NECA coming through yet again! I personally can't see many major gripes on this (for me).

Having already bought the City Hunter (which is incredible for the price) this will be an easy buy for me and guess what..... I'll probably be $200 in the profit from the HT sale and with a larger Keaton bats.

How does that work........:cuckoo::rotfl:yess:

Just pre-ordered Batman 89/66 from Big Bad Toy Store.... I can't wait to get mine.. In other news I was on the toybiz.com site and it said it's being released in May.. Kinda weird...

I thought I saw Clive Owen. Well, it's Neca, so you can't really expect too much for the price they're offering for their 1/4 scale line.

I really wish they'd use fabric suits for simpler designs like West Batman. Even if it drove the price up a little bit, it's not a super complex design like, say, Captain America's suit, and I feel that it would be a bit more aesthetically pleasing. That being said, what they already have is still nice, but it seems like the Keaton Batman is a totally different creature due to the lack of visible joints throughout.

Yeah.. but NECA aren't known for fabric outfits on their figures - in ANY scale, are they? :huh :lol

Can't know until you try, and, if their capes are anything to go by, they should do great! Plus, didn't you see all of the awesome tailoring on the Django figures (wait, nevermind, those don't exist anymore)?

Any Twitter users, please ask NECA if they have any plans to branch out their Batman license to include Batman: The Animated Series.
A 1/4 scale Batman from the animated series would be incredible.

Sorry mate but i doubt that will ever happen there are some nice Warner Bros store pieces around though. I still can't believe it's taken this long to sort the licensing out on the 1966 Batman series so we can finaly have figures. I always wanted Megos of 66 Batman and Robin when i was a kid.

To be fair, this prototype is very very good quality for what it's made of, a lot of plastic. And the fact that it looks so damn good for what it's made of and retails for so little considering it's large size only compliments NECA. Well done.

But even noting all of that, the materials and realism and display options of the DX09 (multiple hands, faceplates, and the craftmanship of the accessories) is much better.

Now how much better? Is the quality difference such that it is worth about 3x as much retail?? Ehhh, probably not. But if I had to choose just one Keaton Batman, I'd pick the HT.

the only difference is that the NECA one will probably last decades while the Hot Toys one might deteriorate in a couple of years. Might be plastic but at least it will outlast the HT one probably.

But this 1/4 and you can by 3 of them for the price of one 1/6 HT figure.

That's why some of us are saying NECA (if they can deliver with this quality) is giving the middle finger salute to overpriced stuff from Hot Toys, Enterbay, Sideshow, etc. And I say more power to 'em.

not only that but at least NECA doesnt use rubber that eats away even when it sealed... lol
