NECA 1/4 scale predator

I got an email from BBTS today too. I paid for my 2 sets of 3 this afternoon but haven't received a tracking # email yet. Shipping for 2 sets was $49.69 roughly making each Predator $74.95.
This evening I stopped by my local comic shop and they also had the Predator figure. Unfortunately, they were asking $89.99 for closed mouth and a whopping $129.99 for masked.

I paid $139 AUS so your prices sound cheap to me

I think I figured out a way to put the mask on the open mouth

My Shoulder Cannon sits like that too... Does not quite lock into place...

Did you have to fiddle around with it to attach it?

I just hooked it on and that's the only way it wants to sit. NECA definitely didn't measure it properly, as the 7" has this problem too. It's why the paint underneath the cannon mount is cracking a bit. I just leave that area alone.

Track one down, bro! I love my closed-mouth sculpt, but I can definitely tell why the masked look is so popular!

Hey Blade, your Pred's mouth color looks a little better than some others I have seen here....or is it just the bright lights drowning out the pic???

I don't actually use lights in my pics. I just open the blinds during a sunny day, slap a big sheet of paper on the wall behind the pic, and snap away. There are three different brightness settings on the Canon camera, so if you zoom in enough on a darkly-colored item, it automatically causes the background to become white in the image .

Back to the mouth coloring, it is a tad darker than in those pics. Basically your run-of-the-mill pink. Can't think of any other way to describe it. It's not reddish or anything as bold as HT's version.

I love this photo. I can't wait to see how your diorama turns out Blade. Will you be doing a video on making that too?

I probably will, seeing as how my review will be done tomorrow -- way before any notable progress with the dio is made. Not sure if it'll necessarily be a step-by-step how-to video, but more like a look at it from different angles with me explaining how it was done.

I just really love this figure. It's barely 1% or 2% away from being the definitive figure representation of the P1 and because he's so huge (and so ridonkulously cheap), it's no surprise that people are trying to make the most they possibly can out of it. Heh, I've even gotten over his netting tears and all I feel when I look at him is love. I'm still totally gluing those strands, though.

Something about the mandibles make this thing look great. I think it's the flat paint and the color gradients working up to the slight glossy part (not to mention the amazing sculpt). It's hard to explain but with you guys who have him you may know what I mean. I am SO glad I got this to go along with Masked Pred. Now I am getting the urge for the open mouth... uhy-vey!

From memory the 7" ones I have seem to fit quite will, but will check again.

well guys, it seems temptation has got the better of me, i had originally ordered the open mouth predator, but in the end, just had to place an order for the other 2 with Forbidden Planet, damn you NECA for making such cool figures...DAMN YOU lol

I just cut the bottom key off and shaved that area underneath it down a little more until I got the right fit. I didn't cut the top part and visor at all. The hardest part was removing the bio, it's glued on really well.

Amazing video encline_ designs! But I'm still not touching mine! Never done any mods before so I will leave it to one of the AMAZING ARTISTS here on Sideshow freaks! Can't wait to see your final result!
