NECA 1/4 scale predator

I just picked up mine finally at my comic shop. I bought the masked & opened mouth. Just opened the masked pred an I half to say I'm freaking impressed. NECA did a great job on these beasts. Pics later

It would cost more to make and trying to get the paint on the head to look worth anything and keep it at 70 bucks is a lot to ask. China is raising the cost again on top of that. P2 also isn't as popular as P1 and you can see this I think with SS stuff. They still haven't done a 1/4th P2 or a 1 to 1 bust. Don't get me wrong I'm like most fans on here and I so want the 19 inch P2 really bad. I think the sculpt might be even better on the P2 and it would be a huge waste to see it only come out at 8inches.

l don't believe this for a second. like seriously. if a company makes anything predator that is decent it will sell. end of story. so dont tell me you could make a wicked 18 inch P2 and not many will buy it, or sideshow making a p2 bust, and not many will buy it. Sideshow and Hot Toys have made figures from the Horrible AVP movies, and those are also bad predator designs and they still sold like hot cakes. Sideshow has already said they have plans soon for P2 stuff. don't tell me a pred fan won't buy p2 stuff. and there are ALOT of predator colectors.

this is for you Tankman. make a P2 18 inch paint it to the best of your abilities, and don't cheap out on a few thngs that have been mentioned about your P1 and sell him for $99.99. trust me he will sell. anyone who has your P1 will want the P2 right next to him.

I live in castle rock colorado, i went to the toys r us at Park meadows, which is a 15-20 minute drive. They just sold out, so i had to go to the one in littleton, which is about a 20-30 minute drive. So 1 hour both ways.

It was worth it right and fun at the anticipation of finding him. I'd like to walk in the TRU around here and see it.

I'm sure Randy would like to see it become a big figure but the boss is the one to decide. Hopefully these will sell out so fast the boss will want to do more.

Would then still be reproduced?
I do not think 15,000 pieces is enough for the world.

How could the problem be solved with the painting on P2?
It is supposed to look good.

Is the painting in 7 "even possible(face pattern)?

personally, i'd pay $300+ for one, but i'm probably not NECA's target demographic. and i agree making dinky little 7" toys of your glorious sculpts is a waste. i'd love to see your talents used at a high-end collectible company where your work could be used for high quality larger scale stuff.

Come on now you know you are just saying that to be loyal to HT. Give it a few days and you'll notice when you walk in your room that the NECA figure will take your eyes away from the HT P1. Nice pics by the way.

i own both. your sculpt is better. that's it, really. and NECA could've bumped it up a notch by throwing in a lightup feature and/or sounds like some of their other 18" figures. LEDs and batteries are dirt cheap these days.

I personally prefer P2 as he looks more aggressive along with his stance + more weaponry.

From memory I watched P2 before P1 so the first impression would have stuck on me.

I know a lot of ppl on here would beg to differ of who is better yet P1 being the Original.

Still I like both, but a 19" (1/4) scale P2 would be my ultimate! (Besides the Hot Toys P2)

I am very happy with my 19" P1 despite the minor inaccuracies, it does not bother me as NECA delivered quite a large scaled figure for an awesome price as I was yet to see / find anything in that scale for that price.

So God Bless You Tankman if you do go a head with 19" P2, I will be here from the Land Down Under AUS waiting for its release and be one of the 1st to buy

Phew....my masked predator was like "ahhhh" and jumped off the shelf today. No kidding about the ankle joins not being strong enough. Long story short he's fine. Nothing broken but he's been repositioned.

The netting wouldn't even be as bad an issue on the P2 as it was on the P1 (although it would still be nice to use a different material), because P2 has ball-jointed hips which means there won't be a cut joint in the knees.

But 19" is the only scale where the paint on the head has any chance whatsoever of being done right. Its going to be awful at 8". I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.
