I only really collect SS, for the past 5 years or so, But after seeing all the pics & youtube review ie PITU, I just caved in, had to get me them Preds & I'm not even a really big Fan, love the Film & Preds but didn't care to have it in my collection as I only do MARVEL the line, Just 1 thing I can say about the Neca Preds, AMAZING I got all 3, I must admit when I 1st took them out the boxes i thought just a big TOY, but then you start to pose it, it's seems to come alive & have a personality of it's own, Truely Amazing, best purchases this year for me & great Value aswell.

This is the only NECA figure I own, so I cant really judge their other products, but damn, this figure is impressive!

Get the 18 inch alien. Some stores have it now for $20, although it originally cost $40. that's another great one that you would probably like and it would go great with the pred!

I own 4 characters now in "1/4 scale" - all NECAs.

Predator (and all 3 versions)
Alien (recent cloudy dome release)
Robocop
Endoskeleton

The above is how I would place them in my order of preferance in terms of their quality and faithfulness to the movie characters.

Predator is amazing. Theres a few nits to be picked that have been detailed a lot in this thread but they don't bother me at all so far. What a figure!

Alien is excellent too apart from some colours being totally mismatched on mine - his left thigh upon close inspection is noticeably a different colour to his abdomen and his knee for example. Its a minor pity Tankman didn't get to revisit the headsculpt in light of more referance material he didn't have at the time but its still more accurate than McFarlane or Hot Toys. My major worry is this guy falling over and the dome getting damaged, probably irreperably.

Robocop is seen by some as the best sculpt of that character ever done in action figure form. I'd agree. Unfortunately the visible joints at the shoulders and hips let it down - these areas could have done with some sort of black rubber covering like the articulated areas of the HT ED-209. They just make him look really like what he is - a toy. They heavily detract from the realism of this figure. Then theres the paint - its inconsistent over the figure, some areas with purply effects and others with blue. Obviously they didn't want to go with just a monotonous silver all over and thats good but sadly it just wasn't pulled off very well at the factories. Mine also has some paint mess and what looks like scratches or chaffing on the black abdomen which I'm pretty sure weren't caused by me.

The Endoskeleton is easily the weakest of the lot. He just looks so cheap and toyish. The flat silver paint verges on being white rather than even coming close to mimicking the chrome that endoskeletons should be. Custom chrome paintjobs can improve this figure a great deal but theres still weaknesses in the sculpt and the flimsy cheap bendy plastic of the pistons. Recent customs posted in this forum have also really drawn attention to how basic and well..crap things like the hands and feet are - or the sides of the thighs which are filled in where there should be gaps - even the 7" McFarlane figure did that right. So yeah, I find it hard to look at this figure without wincing. Next to my other 1/4 figures it looks pretty awful if I'm honest. And, something we're not used to saying in this thread, the HT one beats it by a mile.

How can I make sure I get one with a cloudy dome and not a clear dome?

Its such a shame the endo isnt anywhere near as impressive looking as these Predators.

I don't know that you can be sure if you're getting a cloudy dome one. I had high hopes that the latest release of the figure would be but I wasn't certain about it. Got mine from BBTS.

Yeah it is a pity about the endoskeleton, Terminator being my favourite and all, but it is what it is. At the very least it needs a chrome paintjob for me to consider it worthy of display on the same shelf as this Predator, which mine doesn't. I don't have the ability to do it myself. One day I might see if anyones taking commissions for it.

Finally got my P1 predator last night!
Fantastic figure. Congratulations to NECA and especially Tankman for such a wonderful figure.
I'm very very happy with it and I hope NECA keep kicking butt with Alien and Predator figures.

I found one of the Terminators in my retarded uncle's closet all broken'n shizzle last summer. I haven't looked at it in several months, but I don't remember it being that bad..

Both Tankman and Randy would love to give us a 1/4 P2 but the powers that be are still crunching the numbers on the P1's to see if a P2 would be feasible.

As for any of the other Preds in the series I'm guessing that we may not get those in 1/4, I could be wrong but I'm thinking that if P2 is a long shot there's virtually no hope for Preds from the other films in 19" form.

I think if we dont get a Pred 2 1/4 scale then from there my vote would go to the Elder before we go Wolf or any of the new Preds

We will never get a Scar or Mr. Back.. We will never get any Predators from AvP or Predators in 19 inches.

Most likely are Wolf, P2, Elder.

P2 will be the first one they do, if they do anymore.

And the fact that there are thousands of Wolf fanboys... People who had no idea what the Predator was, but were tricked into thinking Wolf is some Alien ass-kicking god.. Which doesn't make much sense because what he killed in the movie didn't even look like Aliens...
