The AVP Predator designs were so much cooler than Wolf's, in my opinion.

Each Predator in the previous films had his own theme going on with the armor and skin patternation. We've got the scantily-clad retro jungle look for P1, the rusty and gritty Aztec-ish look for P2, the icy combat gunmetal look for the AVP Preds and Wolf was...
...well, that's just it. Wolf's a bunch of random things all thrown together in an effort to make him look cool. Two cannons, some ancient stone-looking mask (sort of P2-ish, just nowhere near as awesome) with carvings and metal spikes, armor based on the layout of P1, but with more abstract designs that don't really go anywhere or look like anything we can follow, an anorexic body, a damaged mandible, and tusks all over his face. I think they tried doing too much with him and the end result is an unorganized and forgettable mess of things.

Worst part about him is the armor for me, hands down. I just never understood how anyone could 'like' the design of it, since it seems like they weren't sure about where they were going with it. That's just me, Iono... :dunno

At the risk of being that guy I love Wolf over the AvP Preds, I love it for pretty much all the reasons Blade3327 hated it, I loved the design, the body, the helmet, the twin casters and the missing mandible.

To me he screamed warrior who's been through a lot and I prefer the tribal look for Preds over the hulking football players we got in AvP.

His features do look cool by themselves, but what I meant is that the designers should have picked a certain theme and gone with it. A little consistency goes a long way in character design. Twin 'casters? Awesome. Lots of tusks? I can dig it. A stoney-looking bio? Hell yeah, that could work. But all of that together? Erm... it's a bit too much, that's all. More power to anyone who likes Wolf, I just offered my explanation for why I wasn't a fan.

Agreed. Wolf was a bad mo-fo, and I preferred the slender well seasoned look over the life-time 'roid abuser look of the AVP "teenage" preds. And their faces were horrendous. Totally ruined the whole outer-mandible look that Winston Studios made look so awesome, in lieu of that farce that looked like 4 fingers spread open to reveal the mouth. I was glad when AVP-R brought that look back, even if one of the upper mandibles was missing.

Wolf predator is the best predator hands down. C'mon guys, it took a nuke to finally bring him down! And that was after he took out multiple Aliens, a couple of random stupid humans, and gave a beat down to a Predalien! What other Predator can even come close? Please don't say one of those new super Predators, because they were the lamest. Adrien Brodey took one of those down. ADRIEN BRODEY:cuckoo:??????
Wolf kicks all @$$!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adrien Brody is a badass.:lecture

They don't all need to have some "theme" to follow..

P2 also had various mandible teeth.
Dual casters = Cleaner Pred with a mission...

I love Wolf's armor, it's different, it's unique, it's more ancient/elfish..

I do prefer the AvP trio's look over Wolf's, though.

Adrien Brody did a great job as that character. If we're judging who's a badass and who isn't based on who played the men that killed them, then it's pretty clear Kevin Peter Hall is the only tried and true winner here. :rock

They don't all need to have some "theme" to follow..

Maybe "theme" wasn't the best word. I guess "consistency" is better. It's like not slapping too much random stuff onto one character's look.

Well, I haven't heard of any specific vibes given off by Wolf, but that one kind of works. Hence, I guess I prefer my Preds not to be elfish . All of the newer designs have some sort of issue that keeps them from staying true to the original Stan Winston suits, so I guess even if we disagree at some points, P1 and P2 are still up top.

Um, what:lol Since when? Since, The Pianist, or maybe The Brothers Bloom? Just because you make your voice a little raspy doesn't make you hard core. Ill admit though, his nose does look violent!

He's a good professional actor and I appreciate good actors. Look at his roles in The Pianist, The Village, Splice, The Experiment and Wrecked.

And don't forget, the man took on King Freakin' Kong lol.

Okay, so he more like eluded Kong in an old time taxi cab but come on, I wouldn't have had the balls to do that, if I saw a 50 foot ape my first instinct would be to pee myself and then run away lol.

And he did have some pretty big balls in Predators, he untied that Pred from the totem with only a shred of an idea: make friends with a remarkably hostile alien creature (I know my first instinct when I see one is to cut it down) and ask it to help him get off the planet...he's damn lucky that Pred didn't rip his head off on sight lol.

Not only Asking you but

everyone else here, SINCE we are talking about the looks of the preds and how they differ and how cool they are/ arent,

what do you think of the predators from the last movie, Berserker? falconer?
I dont mean do you like them or not, Im talking about their
armor, their look, their theme?

Okay. An actor, not a bad@$$
His acting is badass, his style is badass, he played a badass, he is, badass.

And holy crap Splice was weird. Especially that one scene.. and that other scene, you know.. Those two scenes..... They were all.. Sceney and scene-like... And stuff.... With the scenises and scenginas... :cuckoo:
cough

@Blade
What I meant by elfish was like, how his armor is so smooth and sleek. The shapes just give you that very swift, elfish feeling.
Don't really think the design went too far or anything though...

Berserker was the one with the coolest look... Tracker was the one with the coolest theme... Falconer was the one with the coolest Bio.. Yeah...

If playing a BADASS makes you a real BADASS...

Then wouldnt Heath Ledger playing a PSYCOPATH KILLER make him a PSYCOPATH KILLER???

Dont tell me theres a difference...

Acting does not make you a BADASS...

Real life does... :lecture

he is not a badass in anyway. all his movies suck in my opinion. this is the first time he played a tuff guy. and it was acting. doesnt make him a badass.

agreed. not only that but Ledgers joker was a badass. that's the only movie he did where he was a badass, and he sure wasnt a badass in real life. same goes for Brody. he's the farthest thing from a badass.
