It looks very nice.
But the area between the mouth and the dome looks something strange.
Further I have worrys about the final product, on the last Aliens the paint on the skull under the dome looks like paint from a pen.

The part between the mouth and dome looks like the quivering lip that peels back from its teeth.

Between this lip and the dome.
I can not say what, but something looks off.

Maybe with a more black, foggy dome looks better(like the Sideshow Legendary Scale Bust).

It this a 8", a 14" or a 22" proto ?

@Blade, yes its possible that this is the problem.
How is it on the sidshow bust?

For the price point, that Giger Alien looks pretty darn good to me!

So on the topic of the eggs (aside from the 'action feature', which really? Who buys NECA products to play with 'launching' action features?) I'm thinking one open egg, one closed egg and a facehugger per pack...does that sound plausible? It's a bit weird the way they do the 'series' releases. I understood from previous information that the new marine (Kyle's Brother), the Blue Warrior Alien and the '79 Alien were the initial wave of series 2, to be followed by the two 'Marine vs Alien 2-packs'. Now we've got eggs as well?

And where does Jones fit into this? NECA direct exclusive? :dunno

So many questions. (Of course if I were patient, I might know the answers to some of these by the end of the weekend... But then Knowing NECA, they all might change before Fall anyways. :lol)

From that single photo, I'd say the inner jaws are a little too big which then just enlarges the gape of the primary jaw. I imagine some liberty might've been taken to allow for the articulation in the area, especially at the 1/12 size.

On the Giger Alien waiting for the final product.
The color of the skull/dome is a big problem.

Aside from this, the Alien looks very nice.

I hope Neca make a Alien Warrior in the dark bluish/bowenish mixed colors like the old one-

Have the blue on the color sheme of the Sideshow 1:1 bust ?

Hm the Alien eggs looks to big on the photos, perspective maybe ?

I agree a launching function is a bit silly.

Yes that with the mouth is possible.
Im exicted about further photos.

I'm assuming they're 2-ups like the Marine. The Blue Warrior to the left of the egg though... 1 1/2 up? :lol

Man, Blade that Medicom Alien is just looking better and better... I like the headsculpt even more than the Sideshow LSB version in our 'sister' forum. (It looks more 'Cinemaquette-like' the more I look at it... [The LSB version, that is])

I wonder why they don't treat the Alien like they do the Predator. Separate sculpts for closed mouth, open mouth, open mouth with inner jaw lunge etc etc.

Damn, what a shame about Kyle's brother!
I'll definitely get one of those figures.

The Giger alien looks beautiful, and yes, the upper lip seems to be sculpted in the "snarling" look. Looking forward to more pics, but I'll get at least two!

The giger Alien looks amazing! And I really like the Marine figure, it will be excellent as a base for customizing.

Which size have this Big Chap proto ?
What inproved Neca on this, except the articulation ?

Indeed. :p

See, Celtie? It can be done. ;)h

Of course, none of the above make A:CM the Worst Game Ever, not by a long shot.

You are not a rational person.

They did. :nana:

You're forgetting; that's "a longer story". ;)

No such thing. :p

I'll buy one, but I'd buy multiples if he only had a helmet...

Okay Randy....

I simply can't believe the new Marine isn't Apone. I appreciate that it's a tribute figure very much, and of course I send all my love and prayers for them as they go through such a hard time. That being said, I do hope that Neca can somehow find a way to at least do Apone somehow, I feel they were misleading in that workshop visit pic of them sculpting the marine with a pic of Apone on the monitor. Had I been Neca I would've had the decency to say in advance that it was a new character rather than let us build up months of speculation. I don't think it was a good move on their part, and I don't see myself buying the new marine as I am an onscreen completest (no disrespect for the family or this brave fellow, as other have said I'm talking about a toy here)

Well, rumors of a generic "army builder" had been circulating for months. I believe Randy had said a few weeks out it would be a "special" (not screen) marine. I personally hoped it was all a smokescreen and was praying for a hail-Mary from SDCC. And of course it is what it is...

I am still curious to see more pics of the marine and his load-out. While it doesnt look like from the one pic, I would like to know if he has the VP70/quilted holster sidearm and how many (if any) grenades he is rocking in his straps. I will find a use for him. I just may need to start scratch-building helmets...

To be fair, that workshop visit pic was taken by someone not on the NECA payroll. There were other marines in the screengrab too - I think some people just saw what they wanted to and ran with it.

I do agree with your sentiment, though. I'd have loved an Apone as well. I wonder how they're going to market this new figure? I mean, unless they pay tribute on the package artwork itself, how is a customer in the store going have any idea?

Who is this in NECA's stall at SDCC 2013:
