Yes, there is a big ****ing problem with that. The one recurring complaint that made the rounds when the game was released was that it's a pile of horse ****, which it is.
Not in the slightest.

There is nothing, whatsoever consistent about the game. Between the ludicrous story line that made absolutely no sense, and the green bubble-headed spitting alien, etc.
You can make the exact same arguments about Alien 3. The whole premise is one giant, arbitrary ***-pull.

You don't like Alien 3. That's cool. It's a brilliant film, but it's OK if you don't like it. There are some really great movies out there that I personally don't like, but I will admit that they're great.

Aliens: Colonial Marines however, is not great. I don't think you understand that the people who made this game do not care about, nor do they understand, the Alien franchise. They intentionally made a ****ty CoD clone with possibly the most awful AI ever in a video game, then added some nonsensical Aliens fanboy wet dream story line.
The fact that you can't simply apply your "it's cool if you don't like it" logic to yourself where A:CM is concerned is utterly pathetic.

You're the one "squawking", buddy. You're the one who gets all up in arms every time someone brings up that awful abomination that does nothing but taint such a beloved and well-made trilogy.
No, you are. I hate Alien 3 like few other movies, but I don't particularly care to criticise it unless someone starts trashing Aliens or Colonial Marines by comparison. You, on the other hand...

So you're telling me that David Fincher went in to direct Alien 3 just to make a quick buck? Yeah, wrong again. Fincher cared for the franchise and treated it with far more respect than Cameron ever did. He set out to make a great movie, and he did. He got the franchise back to it's roots, made the alien more symbolic and took away the idea of the aliens being a colony of bugs, and Ripley having a "happy ending" and a new family.
What Fincher made was a steaming pile of xenomorph faeces pointlessly retreading the premise of the first film for no reason other than that audiences still wanted to see more Aliens films. Just about all of the major players involved in the previous movie took it as a giant dump over what they'd done in their iteration, and they were right to do so.

I love Aliens to death, but it wasn't taking the franchise in the right direction and Hicks' character didn't add much. He was the good-looking hero solider love interest. That's about it. Other than that, he had virtually no depth.
That is pure, unadulterated, unsupported, subjective opinion, as you well know.

I can't fathom how someone can write off the entirety of Alien 3 for some piece of **** cash grab video game.

It's rather sickening that you think you're an Alien fan, considering that this game is the epitome of what the franchise should not be.
Likewise, I cannot fathom how someone can write off the entirety of Aliens and/or Colonial Marines for some piece of **** cash-grab movie sequel.

It's rather sickening that you think you're an Alien fan, considering that this film is the epitome of what the franchise should not be.

And that, my friend, is all I'm going to say on the matter. I'm tired of wasting my time arguing with someone so utterly prejudiced and immune to reason, and as I know you regard me as exactly the same sort of person, I can see no further point in continuing to interact. You're going on the ignore list as of now.

Still trying to get my head around this. They haven’t even released series 3 yet and we have seen/ heard of some really amazing stuff. Releasing all the Losties was impressive but this line is turning into something else! :clap

Could be. I wonder if the Queen and the Powerloader will both have some kind of stand/interlocking base thing going on with the accessories.

That'd be a cool idea but as they said deluxe boxed set I'm wondering whether they will include part of the egg sack...:dunno

The Queen and Ripley in Powerloader in the same scale at long last.

Indeed, it's great news.:yess:

I assume we're all staying away from this little cat-fight, but I can't help but laugh at the bashing of the (horrendous) Colonial Marines game and overwhelming praise of Alien 3, side-by-side, without a hint of irony. They're basically the same exact thing in two different mediums. Thankfully one has an assembly cut that restores some dignity to it, but that's only a small victory.

Since 2009, NECA has just been on fire lately. I mean, they were doing cool things before (I love that original 1/4 Robocop from way back), but they're just KILLING it now. I'd like to think it started with that Terminator 2 line. They started that trend and have been hitting home runs since then. It seems like every year there's a new surprise, or a new license. Every Toy Fair has been a real treat.

If they could just get their customer service figured out and find a way to make their products a little better/less fragile and breakable, they'd be perfect.

Oh absolutely. They've been making dreams come true for us geeks in a big way. So many impossible figures made possible. They're doing a little too well if you ask me. I can't afford all this stuff haha.

So, I finally got fed up with the look of the 2-pack Hicks' helmet sitting so high on his head and decided to do something about it. I tried trimming down the interior of the helmet at first, but it was still sitting too high, so, knowing that there wasn't any point in having the helmet removable with the big divot in the figure's head, I ultimately decided to trim the head itself to better fit the helmet and hot-glue the two together. Here's the result:

Gave the same treatment to a single-pack Hicks head as well (the single-carded figure has much-superior paint application, IMO, particularly on the eyes):

Much better, to my eye, but if anyone else has any thoughts I'd be interested to have them.

Infinitely better. Had to be done unfortunately. Damn poofy hair...

I'll be posting pics later today of my alteration, that so far, I am satisfied with.

Heh. When they do the Aliens Ripley, I wonder if she'll have her "alien stomper" Reeboks...

I am already preparedfor them to release accessory packs since I assume she will not have any weapons with her. I really want a figure of her from 3 too.
