I didn't know Randy looked like Rob Zombie... wow :lol that's pretty cool

Some of the best painters in the world working on their prototypes. Pity the same can't be said for the final figures. Seriously, all the stuff they're announcing, the new lines, the new vehicles and formats, I mean they must be doing pretty well as a business. I eagerly await the day they do some kind of deluxe $150-ish collectors' line.

People don't b***h enough about the QC on their Twitter. Randy fields so many questions on that account (props to him for that, it's great interaction) so these kinds of issues need to be brought up.

^People do but they get blocked. And if you're nice about it you're referred to customer service, who never responds. So you're stuck having paid $20 for a figure that doesn't have feet.

I recently got into collecting neca aliens. And i just purchased my first alien figure and it was the neca alien series 2 big chap.I was blown away by the detail and that skull was fantastic. But unfortunately when i went to move his left leg in a 90 degree bend as if he was kneeling down. The peg within his leg snapped off.So i am sitting here very sad and just admiring this awesome piece with a broken leg.But this little situation will not stop me from collecting more of these guys. They are awesome looking and i will buy a few more to make my army

Well, the articulation is not really designed to achieve a 90 degree bend... I mean, it could in theory I guess, but the sculpt of the pelvis prevents it.

This is the most I could get out of that articulation:

Even if it isn't meant to bend that much (and the feet are meant to move a lot, got zero up and down movement out of them, just immediate breakage) it should have a little resistance before it snaps like a ...something even weaker than a twig. I've had my McFarlane xeno rattling around in a toy box for 10 years and it's as solid as the day it was bought. The cheapness here truly blows.

thanks for your input bro and for sharing your pic.So I dno if I explained myself correctly.I am horrible at that sometimes. But this is the kind of bend i was talking about. So his right leg can bend fine. But when i moved his left leg a little over an inch forward it snapped.I wasnt using force just a simple move and snap. There was no force involved.I just think mine is a defective

Sounds like they do have plans for Resurrection and it will be “Last in line!” not sure if I will pick those up, maybe the Alien.

Sucks to hear about the break on your first one. I have six Aliens now and I have only managed to get one into a kneeling position that looked natural. found to get a better hunched look was to have the lower legs bent at the knee with the upper part of the alien bent forward, less stress on the hip joints.

Thanks man :hi5:

If you plan to get lots you will probably run across one that has trouble standing on its own due to loose joints. I would strongly recommend using that as a kneeling one. Yeah the red Xeno is awesome!

I picked up the A L I E N, Aliens Warrior and Hicks & exploding Alien two pack this week. Thankfully I've had no major QC issues with the two Aliens but I've yet to open the two pack. I think a lot of the QC issues are caused by the way these figures are packed. NECA really need to rethink the clamshell design, it puts too much strain on the Alien sculpts.Talking of sculpts, the new sculpt on the Giger Alien is awesome, it's beautiful. I'm now officially super exited for the rest of the series this year. The Kane & Dallas look mind-blowing, here's hoping for Parker, Brett, Ash, Lambert, Kane & Dallas (in Nostromo duds).

A couple of years ago, I bought this version:

alien_classic_warrior_COMBO.jpg

It's still unopened. :lol I've seen examples of these in store over the years with legs that have completely broken off in the package.

Mine looks fine from what I can tell (& not opening it till I've set up a shelf for ALIEN stuff), but are there any major issues with the above release apart from the odd broken part here & there?

Have stayed out of the Alien figure addiction, watching from the sidelines, but these new figures from my favorite of the movies, is likely going to burden my wallet. Where's the best place to buy NECA figures anyways...brick & mortar stores, Amazon (of course now most states have sales tax included so it's not much different than other places), other online stores?

Vintij, I've got two of those guys opened with no issues. It wasn't til the aliens warrior version that encountered problems.

Edit: actually one of them is from the pred/alien 2 pack, but still both are good

Ah, ok, I understand.
It seems you suffered the sadly usual "stuck-joint-syndrome"... whenever you get a NECA figure, the first thing you have to do is gingerly test every articulation. If you find even the slightest resistance, stop immediately moving that joint and proceed to dunk it in hot water to loosen it up. The once again start testing its range of movement with the utmost care.
Sucks, but that's the way it is.

I broke two of the old Giger Alien figures and about three Predators before I decided not to chance it with stiff articulations.

Incidentally, I had the same problem with McFarlane's AvP figures. They all came with stuck joints and many broke.

The red aliens is very cool, its darker than the pictures.I was looking at him the other day and though how cool it is because the red stands out.I am a alien comic fan so i am on the different art of the alien. There was some very cool styles we will not see

Same thing happened to the Alien fig I purchased same leg too....

Same thing happened to me with shot gun face alien. As soon as I moved it, it snapped. And the helmeted hicks can't wear the lamp because it doesn't fit in the hole.
I think I'll be returning this one for another set. Neca are far from being the toy gods. I don't use Twitter but complaining to Rob Zombie sounds pointless to me. Sounds like they like to pass the buck too. I'm not going to cook my toys. I'm going to break them and return them :lol

Big Chaps dome also has gaps where it meets the head but I'll live with that one.
