Glad they used the word "enormous" for the Queen.
Lets hope she is in scale with the Aliens so that should make her 25" or thereabouts!
Speaking of her enormous size, I wonder how that will affect the price. The recent 18" Knifehead figure will retail for $150, and the Queen will need a much more intricate and detailed paint & sculpt.

If NECA's gonna charge that much for this it will need to be absolutely perfect.

I think this is sort of the "grail" piece for many collecting this line after all.

I think this really could turn Hot Toys attention back on the alien franchise now that her likeness is apparently gettable.

Instant purchase if that happens. I don't even care what version (although an A3 Ripley with the Doggy in 1/6th would be epic).

Well, looks like 2014 is going to require I make my own Marine fun. Oh well. :dunno :wink1: Good for Ripley though. I'll be glad to have her in her AlienS glory!

In any case, I've been 'practicing' the racal headsets.

Played around with different ideas; sculpting from scratch, using plastic parts glued in place, and even a McFarlane transplant. Many heads to practice on so I did a lil something different for each. I know my hair re-paint is the weak spot, but I am not unhappy with how the racals turned out.

(My "Final Battle in Ops" Hicks with my version of Windrix)

This guy was just a bit of goofing off from leftovers after Crowe and Ski

The squad as they wait for me to finish Apone and Frost (and a properly produced Ripley, apparently!)

Love the customs. Hope to see more. Question, for 'Ski, did you boil and pop Hudson's arms to get the proper sleeves on the left arm?... if so, was it easy to achieve?... what about the hand?.... appreciate if you could help me out.

I know most Alien "fanatics " will buy ALL of the Ripley figures, but if you had to pick one as the definitive version of the character, which one would it be? My favorite version is Aliens :)

Easy - Alien. Nostromo flightsuit, right there. The original and best :)

(But I'll blatantly buy "final battle" Aliens Ripley & Powerloader as well ;) )

As great as this news is I'll be so disappointed if we never get a set of these three...

Some of the best visuals from the movie were these three in their space suits.

Absolutely - those spacesuits are great, "of their time", given their being Moebius' work, but that's still brilliant today. I'd love to see those three figures too.

Never say it couldn't happen - after all, Weaver giving rights for Ripley has been a "it'll never happen" for so long, and yet here we are. OK, Hurt's still off the table for now, sure, but who knows?

That press release lists everyone but HT. They have to get something done.

I agree, but I think HT are perfectly happy coining it in from their Marvel/Disney franchises and Batman, with the odd Predator or Terminator thrown in. Suspect Alien's on the backburner somewhere near the Prometheus figures at this stage.

How I'd love HT to prove me wrong, tho.

Even if "all" we got in 1/6 from Hot Toys was a new, accurate Big Chap and an official Ripley, that'd be grand. Not expecting either, tho.

Actually, I wonder if they might now look again at getting Weaver's likeness - but to redo their Ripley & Powerloader set for the Aliens 30th in 2016.

It could be more then that. Its meant to be deluxe set so could be $200.

Precisely. The pic below is what the joint looks like. A minute soaking in some real hot water and it will pop off. It stretches and right when you are afraid it will break it gives out. I wont say it CAN'T rip, I'm just saying I did it twice and mine didn't. Steady twisting on a warm soft joint should do it though. Make sure you don't forget to put the sleeve roll on FIRST when reattaching the 'new' arm. The hands I didn't mess with.

It will be the Nostromo Jumpsuit first according to Toy News,

NECA will release the first ever action figures of Lieutenant Ellen Ripley. The figures will feature the likeness of Sigourney Weaver and the range will span several movies from the Alien series.

Initial plans include a figure of Ripley in her Nostromo jumpsuit from the original 1979 film, followed by a Ripley figure based on the 1986 movie Aliens, directed by James Cameron. Prototypes of the range will debut at San Diego Comic-Con.

Also on the way from NECA will be figures, board games, bobbleheads, plush and toys hitting retail in March 2014.

You forgot this one.... :lol

Where was that published? Lobby card, perhaps?

Yep, the Queen is what I would consider a grail piece for me. This is probably the best scale for her too. I just hope they do her justice and the factory do a good job with her to justify the hefty price tag that she is likely to carry.
