I modded a helmet from the Hicks 2 pack figure to put it on a S1 Hicks and it looks incredible so if Neca throws in a Hick's helmet with Newt they will have even more happy collectors - if that's possible.

Great googly moogly! I never saw this coming (clearly don't regularly read the Freaks board for figure news, since you guys seem to be all across this).
These are, fair dinkum, the two figures I had at the top of my wishlist (in addition to Burke... but let's be realistic). Never thought in a million years we'd get a Newt. *checks date* Yup! Still a couple of days out from April Fools'.
So with Kenner Ripley does this make it an all-female wave? Should be interesting. I really hope it does well.

The neutral version definitely benefits from far superior paint-apps, especially on the eyes.
Hopefully we'll get more unique Marines before they throw yet more variants of existing characters at us...II'd like to see that one with the headset for the Operations battle at some point (and also a separate neutral face version)

glad they're finaly doing Vasquez, I like her more than Ripley.
Yea, I still can't believe Newt and Vaz are coming. I absolutely hope for both versions of Vaz eventually but I hope the smartgun version gets released 1st. Neca did say 2 new Marines and now we know 1 is Vasquez so who is the other one? I'm hoping for either Drake or Frost!
Dunno what it is about the 2-pack releases but the paint is never quite the same level as single figures. Although I don't think the paint was all that good on that first Hicks and Hudson either.

I'll take it all but I'm not expecting much more due to likeness costs and retailer requests for an emphasis on creatures. But if the rest of the squad can't happen I'd still like to get appropriate variants on the ones they do make.

The two Hudsons are about the same in terms of paint in my experience. My single-packed Hicks, though, makes all the two-pack versions I've seen look like cheap knockoffs.
What about tooling costs? As pleased as I am that they're going to make Newt, I can't imagine that she's a more economical option than one of the remaining non-Smartgunner Marines.

I saw the new profile pic Neca are using before reading that Alien Day is now official “I know that doll head… No ******* Way!” was my first reaction.

SO happy about Newt and Vasquez getting a release. I do wonder though HOW they will go about releasing them. Vaz I can see them being a single carded release given she will most likely come with that huge smartgun of hers and a few extras but what about Newt given how small she is ? I guess they could do what they did with the Queen Attack Bishop and throw in some cool accessories to pad it out a bit, like with her doll head also give her a marines helmet or even a unique weapon.
I am intrigued though by the news of the Kenner Ripley. Given how brightly coloured she is and how different she is from previous versions of her a NECA look would be quite interesting to say the least.

I am guessing they could have more likeness rights than we realise when its coming to the marines. It would not surprise me if we see Drake to go with Vaz or even maybe a Frost or so on.
Drake and Vas with in the Sub Level 3 gear...WHOA. After that, I'd just need Frost, Apone and Gorman. Don't care much for Dietrich, Ferro or Spunkmeyer.
Who am I kidding, I want them all. Even Wierzbowski and Crowe.
