NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

No, actually. The Scorpion Alien does resemble the basic warrior, but with the addition of various cosmetic spikes across its body.

John Malamas made an amazing custom version a year or two ago using the Pressure-Suit Engineer body as the base to I've the creature more bulk in comparison with a normal warrior. Maybe NECA could do something similar for a future Gorilla Alien.

Huh. I never really thought of those spikes as an ''added feature''. Maybe because at the time I was less aware of the exact details of the movie design.

Al Matthews will not give his likeness rights. To anyone. But there's no reason NECA couldn't do their own version. I mean, look at Kenners' Bishop. I love it.

Damn you are right. Read the description over at toyark and they are putting in an exclusive figure with it. Can't imagine what it'd be but looks like I'm ordering one for the first time ever.

Could be a simple drone or warrior repaint though I reckon.

This sound exciting. Wonder what NECA figure they will throw in?

Do you think Neca hooked them up with some of the Kenner Ripley's? The description says it really stands out which leads me to believe it's Ripley but it also says ferocious too I think so that makes me think maybe a warrior repaint but could also mean Ripley with that modified smart gun. I'm interested to see if we get a scoop on this figure ahead of the reveal.

One thing that bugs me about the 1/4 alien big chap is that the shoulders seem way too big. Does anyone else feel that way?

I think they are a bit wide, but it's not that bad, IMHO.
You can always pretend the suit wasn't properly fitted...

My Series 7 assortment is on the way. Can't wait for the AVP xenos (even though I hated the movies, I like the designs). I was thinking of getting the Red Queen - do you guys think its worth it for completeness' sake? I have the Genocide xeno 2-pack and I was thinking of making an exclusively 'red' xeno shelf in one of my detolfs.

you're right, I just saw that tweet about the figure be something else and not Ripley. Now I'm hoping in a way it's something I can pass on like another alien since I would just want the figure and not the rest of the stuff in the deal. What is loot crate anyway? I've never heard of them before.

It is kind of funny, since Kenner made passably screen-accurate versions of the original Alien Xenomorph and the Queen, but the Scorpion Alien was apparently very much intended to be a different breed from the Aliens Warrior:

So I picked up NECA's Hudson and Hicks - while not perfect, they are pretty good. I had to do a lot of work to stiffen the ankle joints, straighten the knees, and reduce the wobble in the knee. They stand pretty well now, but I'm still using a stand.

Now of course I want more Marines. The Windrix figure looks pretty similar to Apone in that it has the long sleeves and flame thrower. Any ideas on a good head for him? Here it to hoping Vasquez looks good, and that Drake follows. With Ripley and Bishop already out, there really isn't any other Marine I NEED (but will pick up whatever is released).

Thanks. The holsters are just some sculpy. I didn't cast them or anything, I just made each one as needed using a razor blade and a tooth pick.

Guys the exclusive figure for the Loot Crate Alien Day promotion is starting to worry me a little, have you seen the picture Loot Crate has attached to it's Alien Day package? It's Vasquez and Drake in the armory with their smart guns, with this being a limited quantity exclusive surely Neca wouldn't give them a Vasquez exclusive to put in their deal, right? I mean there's no way Neca could have her ready by now unless she was well into production and kept very hush hush, right?

I though I saw that Neca would release her in July/August but then Neca had a tweet today saying her release date would be revealed soon!

I am not saying that Vasquez is the figure... But this wouldn't be the first time NECA managed to keep a figure a complete surprise almost up until it hit shelves. Keaton Batman was like that. So were last year's DC 7" offerings. And I believe they did it with a retro style horror figure at one point too.

Even Kenner Ripley hasn't been fully revealed anywhere yet... And she is out next Tuesday.

I don't think it will be Vasquez... But it is possible they kept it under wraps.

I don't think that NECA would give them Vaz. That would cause massive outrage. But giving them Drake would be bad as well...
