I'm going on a NECA Alien and Predator spending spree, finally picking up figures I should've gotten months ago. Does anybody know if the Series 8 Dog Aliens will be any different than the first release? Aren't they a little smaller in scale and is that accurate?

They are the same I think. And there are two. One will be the old paint and one is a grey tone. I think they are just re releasing.

Not sure how well it would do with impulse buys at toy stores, but it'd be a hit among online customers/hardcore Alien fans. The original sold out so quick because there was nothing quite like it on the market. To get that design in a larger size and appease those looking for more detail ought to be successful enough.

Yeah, unless they haven't been happy with sales of the '79 Alien and are waiting to see how the Warrior does, I find it hard to believe they won't do a 1:4 Dog Alien.

The small dog sold out fast. It's why they are re releasing it. I get the dislike of the film. And I get not making ressurrection figures. But even people who don't like Alien 3 love the alien. Personally it was the 1 piece I was waiting on. They make a lot of 1/4 figures that are based on mediocre designs. Anyway. I'm irritated lol

Yeah and many people regard Predator 2 in the same light as Alien 3 but that Predator design remains popular and has had a '1/4' release. I wouldn't give up hope altogether though, even after reading that tweet. They're wise to temper people's expectations just on the offchance that they can't make something but how many times now have they denied they were making a requested item only for it to show up later. (which is a happy complaint I might add)

Awesome work, Jacklyn!

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but the dog alien is likely my least favorite alien design (except for the newborn hybrid, if you consider that an alien design). If figure and it's articulation is fantastic, though.

It may not be an Alien, but where the heck did you get that awesome crocodile?

I got a nagging feeling this will actually be one of their big reveals at SDCC this year. They know the Dog Alien is one of the best sculpts they have ever done and the figure is still a steady seller, so making a bigger version would be a no brainer for them and an easy money earner. Like many have said, even those who hate Alien 3 itself still love the Alien design overall.

Yet even Sigourney herself said that 5 won't be making 3 and 4 non canon and even in the WY Report bought out by Fox itself has quite a considerable amount committed to the last two films. You don't keep putting out material from films that you want erased from the public eye and then do a 180.

No, I think SDCC might hold at least one or two surprises for fans of 3 and indeed 4.
