NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

this one looks great! which variant is it? or is it customised?

This was usually an closed mouth version. I customized it. I used paintings and hot glue. I was not really pleased with my customized figure so i orderd the original snared lip version with the open mouth. Now i have 2 of them.





Today i found out that Giger or Carlo Rambaldi did not made the details on the inner alien head under the dome sculpted. It was painted like the first Neca 1/4 Version. Thats the Reason, Neca did this i think, (and it looked bad to me). So with the new Version, they did a better Job then the original.

NECA is coming out with a $1500 life-size foam Alien*in 2018, hopefully the Predator will follow shortly after.

*I wish! But of they can make life-size Marvel characters, I don't see why not.

Whilst we all wait for the next wave of Alien figures, I reshuffled my set up. Placed the engineer in the middle and expanded the figures aliens on one side and Alien on the other.

...is the Engineer really that tall compared to Ripley? I was on the fence about getting one due to the scale, bit that doesn't look bad at all

Yep. He is taller than all the human figures. I repainted mine to make it a bit more screen accurate.

Not only that it's taller, but if you check out the first encounter scene in Alien '79 movie, when Kane enters the derelict ship and discovers the engineer fossilized body, that was actually huge compared to regular human stature. That proportion changed tremendously in Prometheus movie.

It looks way better compared to the ****** paint job these figures originally had. It's the main reason I haven't picked one up.

Anyone else kind of worried about NECA being so quiet now for nearly two days straight, without even their usual facehugger friday reveal ? I hope the recent spats over their handling of the tmnt and aliens sdcc exclusives has not turned Randy off twitter for good now.

he found the space jockey, a (once) living creature with mouth & teeth & eyes, not some cosplayer in a helmet.

Ugh I really need to track down that Aliens Ripley ! She looks great there. Don't know if I should bother paying the high price for her now or wait for NECA to reissue her in a two pack with Newt thats been rumoured to be being made.

Gohastings.com still has Ripley in stock for $24.99 and the have the Big Chap and Aliens warrior(blue) for $19.99 ea. The newer stuff is getting up there but this might be an option to Ebay, especially if you get or have a coupon code to use.

...Randy said that because of last week's TMNT announcement and SDCC pre-order hoopla, there wouldn't be the usual daily updates. He still shared an extended Alien Series 8 gallery on Friday. Also, with the Memorial weekend he probably took a deserved vacation from all the Twitter trolls xD

Agreed! And the space jockey was like 20 feet tall as well, not 8-9 feet all like in Prometheus. This is one of the many things that bothered me about Prometheus.

Randy is on Twitter this morning. No real updates except that he said that the exclusive Newt pre-order inventory is running low...

They should just release newt as a regular release. All this exclusive **** is just rediculous. For everyone that owns Aliens Ripley, we all need Newt. Now people will sell newt for stupid prices! It just ain't fair!

Call me crazy, I think it will work out. Not because of fan loyalty or ideals or anything. They know the demand and scalper situations. Surely they will not sit idle while 3rd parties cash in.

They will do something to get back in the game and my guess is once their obligation to SDCC is filled (whatever that may entail), they will be free discuss and enlighten us. As such, I'm not expecting any hard details until SDCC is over, but I do think it will work out.
