It would be cool if they could somehow do a blood splattered version of one of the marines but the catch being that when you turn off the lights the blood effects glow a vibrant red in the dark.

Perhaps this has been asked before, but do the facehugger pods look well made in hand, as in 'holding water' well made? I plan on filling mine with water and I'd hate for them to leak inside my Detolf...

I'll likely try it out longterm and see what effect it has. I like what I've seen so far of samples that have water inside the tubes - looks too good not to do when I get my own.

If they appear to leak I'll just remove the water or if the facehuggers deteriorate - **** it, I'll have plenty of them and it might look authentic anyway

Apparently they 're expecting stock at the end of the month. NECA sells it on their ebay store dirt cheap, but the shipping costs are higher than the pack itself...


As for the facehugger tubes, I'm thinking of using distilled water or perhaps liquid cooling fluid, which includes anti algae stuff.

I bought a two part "acrylic water" kit for artificial flowers, it dries crystal clear, but I am worried about how the paint on the face huggers will react as well a the "tube ", .... melting would be a bad thing. So if anyone has tried this let me know, if I get brave enough I'll post results.

This seemed to be the best / most likely way to get Newt out to those who can't attend SDCC and it's clearly not being considered in this way by neca.... so yeah there's that.

I can't really think of another way to get Newt into retail? it's looking less and less likely guys, would be surprised at this point if anyone apart from SDCC can get it.

... I wouldn't buy that Ripley unless she came with Newt. The "iconic" Aliens look has already been released. I rather wait for Resurrection Ripley next year.

Well I'm not sure a backlash would be fair. I'll be very frustrated but I won't be boycotting NECA or anything. One way or another I will get a Newt unless the ebay prices are at Hot Toys level.

As for Ripley in bomber jacket - I don't know why there would be some clause in the contract saying they can only make so many versions. Obviously if it was up to me they'd drop the Resurrection version if by making that one it means they can't do a bomber jacket Aliens version.

The "iconic" Aliens look has already been released. I agree. That's why I said "at this point" as in going forward.

And when doesn't Randy get major fan backslash? From what I have seen on Twitter he (NECA) generally gets accolades and not much static about anything. Except for the whole Newt exclusive thing.

I think they might aswell finish off Ripley and make one for the Resurrection fans that want it. However when it's all said and done it would be really silly if we didn't get the Bomber Jacket Ripley because we got the Kenner Ripley in the collection instead.

By backlash I mean a big uptick in grumbling, complaining and "I thought that you had a Newt plan B" on twitter.

I didn't say or advocate that anyone should boycott NECA in any way.
