Does Burke's look change at all when they're on LV-426?

Gorman, ideally would be some sort of Ultimate because it seems unlikely they'd release 2 Gorman figures. I tend to want figures of their appearances during battle scenes and since Gorman was only in one battle, if I had to choose, that'd be the look I'd want I guess.

My Alien 3 Rip arrived thanks to the ever reliable Steve at Forbidden Planet in Dublin. I only get this feeling once in a while, but she is just a perfect figure. The fact that NECA managed to get her rights, but are making all versions of her. I hope HT follows suit.

I'm also very excited to see NECA are making figures from Covenant and the new Pred film.

Got my Frost and extra Vaz from BBTS today. As already stated numerous times, Vaz is incredible.

Frost is great, and glad to have him. Would have been nice to get correct sleeves, but its nothing some surgury can't fix I guess. I have to second what others have said. This latest wave really does trump the first wave of marines and makes them look a bit dated. The joints feel stronger. The plastic feels more robust.

Interesting addition to Frost is the grafitti on his back. This was 100% not in the film so it must have been something Ricco requested. Perhaps the woman's face on the Africa image is his wife? You know...to cancel out the immortal tribute to the long forgotten "Heath(er)" on the front?! :wink1:

Google says the ARNJMM is an astrological thing btw.

Side note, Vaz's BDU shirt is completely unusable on its own under the smartgun, but she does have a full sculpted body and tank top. It just needs some paint if you want to run a "briefing" look. I'm working on the BDU top though.

Curious, if they do do a Burke or Gorman, how would some of you want them packed ? Just as they appear in the later half of the film or come with a swap out head or maybe some additional accessories like a sentry gun or newly painted pulse rifles ?

Burke with the jacket and flannel shirt vs. suit and Gorman from the Ops battle would be my choice. Incidentally I just found out that William Hope voiced and allowed his likeness to be used in the Alien Isolation game, he played the Marshall. I knew something about him sounded familiar.... I think that if he agreed for his likeness to be used for the game, if NECA asked him to sign off on a figure he would.

The options for Burke and Gorman:

Burke in suit:

He could come with a his business card accessory :)

Burke in his camping, off world expedition outfit:

He could come with a pee stained pants accessory for after this scene:

Gorman in service uniform:

Gorman in utility uniform:

Concussion Gorman:

Concussion Gorman and utility uniform could be the same figure. Just need an extra head and a bandoleer of grenades for the final ops battle.

Things get a bit complicated if we want "I'm coming in" Gorman when he had the field jacket, pistol belt, and racal headset.

I'd take Gorman with his hat and ear piece. Burke I like in the camping gear - I think it's more iconic for him, if you would call anything regarding his character as "iconic"...

Still nothing from Freshfigures re Vasquez and Frost.

Good stuff! Were the dog tags already under her armor or is that something you added?

They were there, and painted even. It's really surprising how much detail went into the body sculpt that no one was ever supposed to see. (unless neca does have a plan in place for an ops battle version)

So bibisont, did you paint the tank or was that painted as well? What did you need to do to make the top usable?

I think he was trying to see if an Ops battle version could be kitbashed by removing the smart gun harness

You can see her ops battle BDU is there, and it's proven that they made the tank top under that. Pretty impressive

The armpits and shoulders were already painted, perhaps because they might be visible from the side view under the vest. But the entire belly and bosom area was unpainted. There are glue spots you need to sand or scrap off, but it is sculpted nicely under the glue.

I say the default camo top is not usable because it will require total sculpting from scratch. The default blouse has no buttons, no pockets, no collar and doesn't even connect over the shoulders. The back has padding from the smartgun vest molded into it, so that would have to be sanded down and repainted.

Really the only thing I plan to re-use from that is the lower the belly portion because it is form fitting enough to look 'tucked in' to the pants and may be able to get covered by the belt portion from his pistol holster rig. I have already hollowed out a spare Hicks body to get the features from the regular shirt, but the fit is off. It needs a lot more work.

Well, they didn't care about Frost's loosely rolled sleeves in order to use one body, so I just kind of assumed we would have to do without... :gah::wink1:

I guess I could tolerate more formal sleeves for earlier in the film as long as we got the alternate bandaged head and the grenade bandolier....

I really would love to get Gorman though. I love his arc in the movie.

Has anyone else had an issue with Vasquez's right hip joint?

I spoke too soon about mine having no stuck joints. Her right hip will not move forward or backward, it is stuck solid. I have tried hot water and the hairdryer and it will not budge. Thankfully it doesn't cause any issues with her standing up, but it still bugs me since it should be able to move. I ask since there was a youtube review (mrevilcheese, I think) posted today and they had the same issue with their Vasquez.

Now that you mention it...the one I took apart did have a bit of a locked hip on the right side. I'm not sure if i got it working or if I simply bent it back and forth with force. I haven't messed with the lower body too much since i noticed it though.

I would say they have plans to reuse her SG body for an Ops battle version release then with all the detail underneath but I also thought they would reuse the Hicks helmeted head version for a headset version too. Neca does think ahead about things like this to maximize the figure cost so I really hope they do.

If they release a Gorman, do you think they will just use the Marine body painted green? If it allows him to be made I'll take that but I personally would love the "I'm coming in" version with coat, hat and headset.

I just realized something else with Vasquez, specifically her smart gun. Ever since I got her I've been trying to figure out where that extra bit of cable goes. It looks to me like the factory assembled the arm backwards. Compare your own figure to the pics on the neca website's gallery -

https://necaonline.com/2016/08/closer-look-aliens-series-9-action-figures-vasquez-frost-and-albino/

You can detach the piece that connects the gun to the arm, it's the same fit as the one on her armor. You can flip the arm around, and then the extra cable piece can go behind her and slots in under her shoulder lamp - between her back and the lamp pack.
