Seriously glad to see you back in the game man. See you just going crazy on getting new stuff and reviews up which is awesome.

Thanks buddy its nice to hear that, I need to be careful not to go overboard with the spending with the holidays right on top of us like this:panic:

Totally relate. I had to tell myslef not to buy a couple things I planned on getting. Sometimes you think you can when you really cannot even if you talked to the person about buying or ordering a pre-ordered item. [emoji38] I've been getting much better recently. It all happens to us though.

It will likely be Jan/Feb before the Kenner wave reaches the UK, so probably no Kenner-themed Alien Xmas for me.

The scorpion alien was my favourite as it had the most resemblance to the Warrior Alien in the movie. Of the others, I think I ranked them like this

Gorilla
Snake
Bull (the first one I ever got I believe)
Flying Queen (loved the flapping wings feature)

Drake was my favourite marine because of his gun that actually somewhat resembled the smartgun in the film. Then Hudson I think. I never had a Hicks (but I sure as heck was able to find O Malley!!!)

No love for Bishop in disguise? Snake was so cool. I hope Neca finds a way to incorporate the snap jaw action feature. I also hope an exploding Alien warrior is in the works.

What is that piece on the bottom left? Looks like another dome to me. So the dome is interchangeable?

I'm so excited for the "kenner" series! Brings back so much good memories. I had Gorilla Alien, Scorpion Alien, Queen Alien & Cracked Tusk Predator back then. All of them got stolen from my toy cabinet.

Paintjob on her teeth might be problematic but I totally know what they're going for. I also like the hair, more flattened with dirt and sweat.

The paint on her vest is better than the basic figure and yet you get the weird discrepancy of her thighs looking clean while the pelvis and lower legs are dirty. Strange.

Overall cool set though. Can't wait to get it.

Good eye, theirs a few issues out of the box, the super clean thigh area is one, a slightly wonky eye on Ripley is another and the teeth are slightly off but pretty good at this scale, the weathering overall is nice and steps up the look, its still NECA but better than they used to be for sure.

Review being uploaded ATM, should be up later tonight.

I'm impressed with how well this set is balanced. Ripley is able to hold Newt and stand without and support from a display stand.

The original Gorilla Alien was my favorite of the Kenner line, but for some reason this NECA one just isn't really scratching the itch for me. I loved the huge abnormal shape of the head on the original, and this one seems to have more of a 'crown' instead. (More fitting for a Royal Guard or King?) Interesting homage, but overall a bit too different from the original iteration. I'm still picking one up, but yeah. Not quite as thrilled as I hoped I'd be.

And does that picture look Photoshopped to anyone else? As in, how the heck does the rest of the Alien fit in that package? I know the joints are doubled, but jeez... :lol

As for the eyes on these figures I have to agree that they are a huge problem always with the NECA humans. You either get cross eyed or no iris or sloppy paint work that leaves white streaks white across some faces. You can have perfect sculpt and paint apps on the clothes but the eyes or face can completely screw it up.

Very interesting design overall. I want to get this one and the Queen Facehugger for sure.

Still, if they ever did more of the Kenner marines I really wish they branch out a bit and give us someone completely unexpected like ATAX figure.

After re-watching the review I think the eyes on Ripley Look really bad:(

Thanks for the vid Skull.

Yeah, Ripley's face looks horrendous. As said I know what they're going for - her exact expression from the packaging photo - but the paint really needs to be perfect for something like that and I fear someone's gonna have to get pretty lucky to get a decent one. That and super-clean thighs let it down. Still though, it's not all bad by any means.

With the close-ups from Skull's video, the teeth look like they're sculpted kinda square-ish with some pretty big gaps between them. I'll try to fix it with a repaint when I get one, but this may be something that just won't quite look right, even with improved paint.

Ripley looks like Rosie O' Donnell from Riding the Bus with my sister.
