NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

There are potentially eight characters remaining if they can pin down Apone. Of the remaining characters, only two would be marketable to non-hardcore fans (Drake and Apone). So, unless they double dip with a Acid Face Drake or an Ops Battle Gormon, I'd say the figure releases for the remaining characters, assuming they plan to release them all anyway, will look something like this:

Say if the game changer is actually diorama pieces so you could display your figures in rooms or areas from any of the Alien films ? And they could come with accessories and maybe even a smaller figure as an exclusive to that set ?

If this is what could happen I would love -

1. The special ops room with a area to display the facehuggers in their tubes and maybe a desk that lights up to show the floor plans.

2. The ' gutting ' room from Alien 3 that comes with the bull body and the bambi burster variant. Other could be the dog.

3. The Nostromo kitchen table with seating for most of the figures. Could include a plain clothed Dallas or even Ash.

I wouldn't be opposed to that, or them coming out. It's just what I've noticed at my local shops with NECA stuff. Singles of the marines have sold out the fastest around me, followed by Predators and then the Aliens.
Bishop, A3 Ripley and the WY Merc's moved the slowest, and I can still get them at my local comic store

Seeing these makes me want this two pack more than I did previously. The alien itself looks great and the Burke face is not as extremely shocked looking as I was fearing it to be. Its neutral enough for it not to be as back as the Hicks or Hudson shouting faces.

I don't think there's a difference is why there's been silence. Glad everyone got a chance to have her though

Comparing my two side by side - which I didn't initially do - there's difference but not as significant as I first thought.

The gold highlights on her ribs and spines are more pronounced on my new one. There's perhaps more areas of bright blue on the new one, where it received less of the black wash than the original release did. Whether these things are an improvement is probably a matter of opinion.

The fingers on the new one have prominent silver joints whereas the silver is definitely there on the old one but it's uneven - one hand has it more prominent than the other. It's correctly balanced on the new one - an improvement then?

My old one has a couple of areas of mess - where some paint went where it shouldn't. The new one is cleaner. An improvement.

Oddly though my new one has yellower teeth...not sure that could be considered an improvement.

Something that bothered me about my first Queen was that the painting of her tail didn't correctly match the body. It came out a brighter blue than the torso. That stood out in a bad way. This is not a problem on my new Queen - improvement.

There is some niggles on my new Queen but these are probably not going to be widespread - one of her big teeth is slightly bent. There's also something amiss with the functionality of her jaw. It won't stay wide open and seems to start closing up by itself. Lastly one of her back spines was missing it's tiny little ball-joint - I had to find a makeshift replacement which I took from my Aoshima Queen (which became pretty much expendable once I got the NECA Queen)

I got mine, but I didn't get the original one so I can't compare. It's pretty good, only things are you totally need the support stands so that it doesn't fall over but detail wise it's awesome.

So to compare, that's:

"RRP": $85.05 = £65.99
Price: $73.33 = £59.99

MRSP: $55.99 = £43.44
Price: $44.99 = £34.92

Almost double! Really? As arguably the UK's largest NECA stockist this has got to be doing damage to sales. I almost always buy from Ebay now where the prices aren't inflated.

Has anybody had any problems keeping the crown raised on the queen? Kind of like she is looking down. I’m not sure if mine has a loose joint or if its just the weight that stops it from staying in place. I have a rod holding it at the moment but worried that over time the slide feature may become loose.

A not so great picture of what I mean. Without the rod her crown lies flat against the back spikes.



Also I have been rearranging my shelves to set up an Aliens only cube and noticed some nasty gunk starting to appear in the bottom of the facehugger tubes. They cleaned up fine and I put them back without water but just a heads up.
