NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

A couple of tweets from NECA about Newt. Info we already knew but I wonder what hope there is to get one outside of SDCC.



I'm not sure how they will do it and what the numbers will be like compared to the Kenner Ripley which is still on TRU.com and GoHastings albeit $34.99 there. It sounds like those in the US should be able to get her as long as you pay attention and jump at getting a copy once she goes up for sale but I have no idea how they are going to provide a chance for our fellow collectors outside of the US. I think they said more details about purchasing Newt would be revealed in June. I hope we all can get at least one but I would love at least 2 without sounding greedy. They did say that everybody that wants a copy should be able to get one so I believe that they will try their best and produce more than they normally would to help with that.

Yea, I sure don't know of any other company that is as interactive with their customers and really tries to give us what we want. They are fans too so that always helps the customers get even more than we normally might get. It's a great time to be a fan of the Alien franchise.

Oh be cool to the man. Ricco is a great guy and I'm sure he has been fairly compensated.

Oh, I've got nothing against the guy. But to me, there's Hicks, Hudson, Apone, Vasquez and Drake and then everybody else. Frost is like a Stalker Predator...I hemmed and hawed but finally got the figure because it's essential if you're a completist.

Makes me wonder too what other little Alien 3 goodies we can expect to be packed in with this wave. Still waiting for more info on that creature pack. Just hope they have not scrapped it and aren't saying anything. I need that Queen chestburster and bambi burster.

I see what you're saying. You want the main heavy hitters and then expand out from there. I'm kind of the same type of collector. As long as I get the main squad I am ok and then don't stress out too much enough to be easy going in getting the rest of the line. The only time I think I get stressed in finishing a line is if its one I know I want a complete set of, or I know a said figure is going to be an exclusive or store variant which more or less means less made.

Case in point the Kenner Ripley and SDCC Newt. I can understand the business sense of them making them exclusives as they are niche characters that only the hardcore fans would want, but at the same time it only narrows down the amount you can pick from and also makes the rest of the fans want them even more which in turn makes getting one just that bit more difficult.

I already pre orders the Kenner Ripley from popcultcha here in Australia but she's also up for pre order at Minotaur, a store in Australia as well. So I got another option there for her. Its Newt that I think I am going to have the ***** of a time getting. Guessing either an Amazon seller at a higher price or again the stores that are getting in Kenner Ripley here will also get Newt.

Toys R Us got SDCC exclusives, so I wouldn't worry about Newt. I had no issues picking up the SDCC Chrome T-1000 or the endo glow Kenner Endoskeleton. I also saw a ton of those exclusive Planet of the Apes sets.

For you collectors overseas, I helped a few people from the UK with the Toys R Us exclusive 7" Keaton '89 Batman (regular/accurate version) for that blu ray anniversary set. I could probably help a few of you guys out with Newt if the Toys R Us deal happened again.
