That said, I think the NECA 18" Alien is easily as good as a lot of the statues I've seen. If I can get something for $40 that's just as nice, or even 80% as nice as a statue costing hundreds of dollars, then it seems like a no-brainer. I can use the money I saved on other things.

Im in total agreement with you, if this looks just as good id rather get this than drop 800 on a maquette, im all for quality over quantity but money doesn't grow on trees and you have to draw the line somewhere

I dont think theres a guy or gal on this board who can save with all the stuff coming out dude, i for one have gone from Figures, to Statues to selling them all and now only focusing on 1:1 replicas.. saving for one product for a year is totally BS sorry dude, theres always something coming out to add to your list. Hence why this figure is awesome for people who cant save for a maquette

I remember reading Michael's review on that V statue and it is pretty bad. NECA's 12' plastic one is better, it looks no different than that thing is and at half the cost!

I just got a McFarlane Hicks last week and I wanna build an army so I'll definitely pick up a few of these since the prices of McFarlane Alien Warriors are kind of high. Were those even any good? Anybody have good pics of them?

Not really. They sucked. Closed mouth, very loose...not great. NECA surpasses them entirely here.
