NECA - Planet of the Apes

Hmmmm....for series four (and yes,let us hope it gets that far).....


An Ape-o-naut would be cool...also like to see General Aldo, Galen or Lucius....

I think we will definitely see a fourth wave. The fact that they are also making those 8" clothed figures tells me they have confidence in the property.

Just hope if they do make those TV gorillas, that they don't forget the friggin bandoliers! Though, I personally would like to see NECA take a break from giving us all these gorillas.

Now, let's see a set of orangutans from the tribunal scene. Of course they would have to solve the lack of sitting ability these figures suffer from that Jessica mentioned.

Any thoughts on wave four? I have a feeling we might get an Ape-O-Naut... or two... or three. Personally, a set of Space Chimps would be a perfect TRU exclusive next year.

Anybody yearning for humans?

We know that they have waves 4 and 5 already planned/finished according to Randy. I think it's a safe bet we will see Lucius in this line. More orangutans might be interesting, but I don't believe they would do very many of them outside of Dr. Zaius. Ape-O-Nauts would be cool, even though I don't like escape much. If I remember correctly Randy said he wants to do a television series gorilla 3 pack with the different ranks.
Humans would be very welcome in this line imo. Taylor is a must at this point, especially since they have the likeness rights and are already doing a mego version. A regular one must be done. I would want a Nova as well, but it sounds like they're not interested, which is a shame. Brent would be a nice addition. I'd even want a generic human figure, it would give the gorillas something to hunt. Probably won't happen though.

They need to do Taylor, Nova, Brent and a couple of mutants from Beneath. Maybe neca thinks humans won't sell as good as apes and thats why they haven't done any. Neca is doing a great job with POTA, but if Mcfarlane had it you would get great sets to go along with the figs, the Walking Dead sets he just released are incredible, the detail is amazing.

What!!!!! No humans, I can see that the human figures might be peg warmers ,but when Medicom had there line the humans seemed to sell well.... it seems to me like this line is selling well, I've been to dozen toyrsus in my area and there either sold out or have a Dr. Zauis or Cornelius laying around...I really want to see this line last for a LONG time!!!! At least a riot cop from conquest to battle the gorilla and Caesar!

Going to let this dry a little so I can build up the back of his hair. I don't want it as long as the NECA sculpt. It looks weird to me that long.

That being said... Until I see Taylor and Nova, I have no interest in this line. Without them, this is like the Mego line when I was a kid (pissed me off then that we didn't at least get Taylor), or the unfinished SS line. Granted we got Taylor (and a pretty horrible Nova), but where were the rest of the apes from the first movie (at least Julius and Luscious). I do like the fact Neca is doing Julius, he looks pretty good. But again: no Taylor and Nova... I'm out.

With or without humans, these are the best Planet of the Apes figures that have come out, there detail is great especially in the gorilla faces. i hope this line continues for a couple years. I think Art Asylum made 7" star Trek figures a few years back that may be able to be used as a starting point to make our own human figures.

That new hair on Zaius is looking great! The only part of the stock hair that bugs me are his bangs, they are just too thick on the ends.

I found a perfect spot for Zaius's helmet hair! Tadah!!




Here is more hair added...to get a better shape. Bangs moved down a little more. Guess I will paint soon.

My Zaius has this pool of dried paint that has a crack on the inner corner of his right eye. Bugs the heck out of me.

I should have left that pool of dried paint alone. Now I have to repaint it. Fffffttttt
Anyway, I will take better photos tomorrow when the lighting is better. I love my new Zaius. I loved him before but now I love him even more.

I have been going thru comic covers and came across a POTA/Star Trek crossover and thought that would be a fun project to do. I'm deciding wether to do them as in the pic or on a planets with their equipment, what do you guys think.

Hey guys, with the gorilla 2 pack soon to be released I'm not sure if I wanna buy multiple's of them to build a army seeing how they look plain without the bandoliers. My question to everyone here seeing how many awesome creations everyone makes, has anyone came up with an easy way to make custom bandoliers?
