This is a figure I might just keep in the package... if I buy him at all.

His spacesuit is TERRIBLE! But I guess they were going for a retro/Mego look... I'm not sure Mego would have done that bad a job on the stitching.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood. I thought the auction was for the Statue of Liberty that Neca made, not Taylor. I want a copy of that Statue.

Just picked up the new wave (and the two pack) at TRU today.

Ursus is fantastic...but scarrviper is right...it is unfortunate that we didn't get a hand that could hold the machine gun. Now, Ursus is the only one I've opened so far and man, he is awesome...just great.

One does kinda have to go through the figures to get good looking ones though....the paint (especially the eyes) is hit-n-miss.

I still think Zauis v2 looks more like Maximus and is super blond to boot...maybe if NECA does a v3 (the "Beneath Travel Jacket" version), they might hit the mark....outfits look well done, but the heads on both of them are just a bit off.

Zira looks good...really like the accessories.

And I really like the two pack....at least an effort was made to make the two same figures look slightly different from one another...and the different accessories make really open up display options and army-building.

So glad NECA is doing these (and despite my grousing bit), doing them well. The presentation is cool and the figures look great. I hope the line is successful enough for them to keep going for a few more assortments. Really want to see Lucius and Caesar from Conquest....we'll see....

Hey Jedibear, nice review.
Does Ursus come with the same stock hand as the Gorillas? If so here is an easy fix for the - not being able to hold the MG;










Also, here is what the back panel of the Gorilla 2 pack looks like. It is very bright and crisp. Taylor is in focus. I hope we get Taylor and Nova soon, and pretty please some horses.

I hope to have pics soon, but I did make for my 2 pack gorillas some custom bandoliers, and tonight I'm going to replace their backpack straps with leather lace. The stock straps are good, but the brown paint on one of them is already starting to flake off.

The bandoliers were made from material I found at hobby lobby, with hooks modified from pieces found in a small jewelry making kit I found at the same store. The backpack straps are just leather craft lace.




Also, a great friend of mine sent me a horse, I'll be customizing it to look more movie accurate-

A shame neca won't make their own horse, but at this point I'd rather worry about getting a Taylor from them than a horse.

Did anyone order the Dawn Blu-ray from Target that included the Gorilla Soldier on the vintage style cardback? I was looking at my order history and it now takes me to the Dawn Blu-ray page for a cheaper price ($20) but there is no mention of the figure and the pictures of the figure are gone. I was expecting this to ship out this week since the movie was released on Tuesday but so far nothing.

Thanks for the coupon link. I printed one out and took it to my local TRU in hopes that they might have them in stock and they DID! I was able to choose between three Zaiuses and three Ursuses but they only had one Zira... and she was a mess. They scanned in at a tad over $16 each!

And they had PLENTY of two-packs but I'm gonna pass on those guys! They had more than a dozen of them and my son STILL couldn't find one with two good paint jobs!

I found all three series two apes yesterday. Zira and General Ursus are beautiful and amazing. Very much at par with Series 1 Gorilla Soldier & Dr. Zaius. Dr. Zaius V.2 is underwhelming. I remember seeing V1 for the first time and saying "WOW"!!! V2 first impression....eeeee. It is not bad but feels below the level of the other two.

Prices of these figures are getting up there at $25 each (CAN). I decided not to get V2 Zaius and pick up two Ursus (one to open) and Zira. When the total came to around $80 for three figures I put the second Ursus down and walked out with two figures at just over $50.

Almost $85 for three figures damn I miss those $14.99 days!!!

Overall another great job by NECA!!!

A little side note, not sure if anyone remembers, Neca released a picture of upcoming accessories. The only not yet released item is the ape bugle. Knowing that the bugle was mainly used in the second film, I am wondering if it will be included with the television version gorillas? Wave 3 seems to be Caesar, Julius, and ?.
Will wave 4 be Slave Taylor, Nova, and Astro Taylor?
