The reason why the two can not be compared is because they both fall into different classes.

Here's an example;

While a Ferrari Enzo (HT) and a Chevy Malibu (NECA)are both cars, they both fall into different categories.

One is a highly exclusive (HT) sports car, and the other is your everyday (Neca) family car. While one has gold plating in the engine, the other has airbags.

Is it fair to compare the two? Nope.

Between the 2 cars, what if the overall goal is safety ( figure accuracy)?

Now with Hot Toys and Neca, I would say our overall goal is movie accuracy. (at least it should be)
So, until NECA starts making figures in the same category (High end exclusives)... there's no comparing them even though they are both collectibles.

A figure only has to look well, there is no other performing aspect to it like on a car.

Unless the Ferrari has the same quality regarding driving due to similar parts (engine etc..) the example doesn't work.

One can say objectively that a Ferrari drives faster than a Chevy but you can't objectively say that it looks better.

If durability is a performing aspect of a figure i would say HT figs are good looking cars with cheap engines and materials.

A ferrari isn't just a Ferrari because it looks good, it is mechanically top notch aswell.

Wether something is exclusive says nothing about the quality of something.

If by different classes you mean that fewer are produced (meaning cathering to an audience of die-hard collectors) and with a higher price-tag and that's why they can't be compared then yes, you are right.

I however don't care about that, i look at them and i see plastic figures made in a factory, one looks more accurate, the other has a better paintjob. I make my judgement on that, nothing else.

When i see the NECA figs, i like what i'm looking at more; the sculpts are great, the paint can be fixed, simple.

Hes the one Arnie character NECA haven't made that you would think really would have a good chance of being done given that the already good selling power of an Arnie figure would be reinforced by his adversary the Predator.

I think its a no brainer.

If that classic's a production piece, I'd be amazed, but seems too good, trying to figure out if all the photos of it to date were just bad or if this sample is a better than what we'll get.

I think that they were all prototypes.

even if by some miracle NECA made a Dutch figure, i wouldn't care about it. there wasn't anything really iconic about his character. it was just another commando Arnold. same reason i passed on the HT figure.

maybe if they made a mud-camo version. but it would have to look fantastic or at least come with a diorama.

Some clear pics I took myself at SDCC today... LOVIN' IT! Also picked up the exclusive Berserker and T-1000 :D.

Hope these help. The two-up's and proto's look amazing, as usual. We'll have to stay tuned, since this is NECA :dunno. Really like what I see, though.

ok, for the love of god, somebody on here who is at the con PLEASE open up the case and fix the tracker's tusks.

it's driving me nuts. i just want to reach through the screen and twist them around.

From Spawn.com Message Board:

TRU SKU 431418

case includes the following assortment

4 x Predators Classic Figure UPC - 634482514313

5 x Predators black figure UPC - 634482514320

5 x Predators falconer figure UPC - 634482514337

Can someone who's attending SDCC take a clear, straight on shot of the cloaked/camo Berserker? I would love to have a pic which makes it difficult to make out where the pred is(if possible), and use it as a background for my computer.

Was this already posted?

from NECA's twitter:

"Coming this xmas a TRU Exclusive. Classic Alien & Classic P1 Predator in a 2 pack along w trophy skulls of the Alien Warrior & the Predator!"

edit - yes it was, a few pages back, nevermind

Oh wow....

That's a ____ing awesome idea. Even though McF did it...:lol

But eh. I dont care. NECA's really doing a great job. They finally surpassed McF's Predators (except the AVP line...thats probably my all time favorite toy line. Just because. ). They've mixed articulation with a good sculpt so well. I'm just going to buy this because I missed out on the Giger Alien./

I just called 3 local Toys R Us stores & read off the SKU # to confirm with them it's legit and it is. It's now registering in their computer system. Unfortunately, all 3 stores showed zero quantity in stock. Should be another week or 2 before they start showing up.

Picked up the Berzerker figure today at my local ToysRus but missed out on the other 2. I got a SDCC variant Berzerker the other day too, so they're all out! I don't know how to post pics, so hopefully this link to an album I made will work with pics from the show...https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/album.php?albumid=1143[/IMG]
