Probably been posted before but I really enjoyed reading Jon Spaiths original script for Prometheus. Lots of stuff in there that was better than the filmed version: https://www.joblo.com/scripts/Alien-Engineers-ORIGINAL-PROMETHEUS-SCRIPT.pdf

And it was interesting to read William Gibson's script for Alien 3, as there as some things in Prometheus that seem to mirror bits of this script in relation to the aliens origins and how it transmits in this story. https://home.online.no/~bhundlan/scripts/alien3/gibson.htm

I really liked a lot of things about the Gibson script (alien 3). As far as the original Spaihts script is concerned...i like some of the core ideas, but i much prefer what we ultimately received (prometheus).

public service announcement: toysrus.com has been sold out of david8 for a week or so. Just wanted to let people know that they recently received another shipment. David8 is available at toysrus.com for 15.99. Wanted to let others know as that is pretty much the best price around. cheers.

Do we have an official date in April for the UK release yet? Feels like it's taking ages!

yeah, there is nothing more disappointing that knowing a movie could have been better if they didn't change things. I hate what that happens.

I still like Prometheus a lot. but still... it sucks.

Series 3 will have Shaw right?

so Shaw will have a male body? I mean the comment saying: "not good enough to tool new female body yet. Series 3 might happen using existing tooling from current bodies" makes me confused.

i disagree regarding jon spaihts' script. I like some of the foundational ingredients, but i find the finished product much more interesting than spaihts' script. Spaihts' work was a much more straight forward prequel. different strokes....

As far as neca's prometheus series 3 is concerned, randy stated that shaw and fifield have been bumped. Series 3 will consist of engineer variants with accessories...possibly the hologram engineers that randy discussed a while back. One accessory that was discussed was an urn/ampule. Randy said urn can be opened to expose the inside mechanisms etc. His reasoning for this decision was to recoup $ in order to do the tooling for vickers and shaw in series 4.
Im really bummed about shaw being bumped, but hopefully we will still get her. As unfortunate as this news is, i am really excited about the urn/ampule accessory. really want a bunch for my diorama. Hopefully these new engineer repaints will look relatively cool....If the line can make it to series 4, neca will definitely bust out the female bodies for that series. there's nothing else that anyone wants.

Are these people on drugs?

So, let me get this straight, about Randy, the first series of Engineers did not sell as well as they hoped, so their solution is to start doing repaints right away?
what the f___?

That seems really bizarre to me. what makes him think these repaints will sell any better than the Engineers that are already out?
Jesus Christ...

the problem is that the line just isnt selling as well as they had anticipated. Correct, the engineers (series 1) didnt sell as well as they had hoped, but they apparently sold better than series 2 (up to this point). I dont think they think that this new batch of engineers is going to sell better than the first. NECAs focused on the fact that it costs them dramatically less to produce said figures than shaw and vickers/. With that higher profit margin, they are hoping to justify tooling for the female bodies. We'll see. I have a very bad feeling about the line. I am hopeful, but not terribly optimistic. I can see series 3 tanking (though, if they look good, ill buy the **** out of them). The only positives i heard today are 1) sounds like we might get a very cool urn/ampule accessory, something i really want and 2) there is still at least a chance that we might get Dr. Shaw.
What can ya do? Ill reserve judgement until i see these new repainted engineers.
shaw or bust!!

They'll have to be two figures in this wave though, won't they? We've already had pressure suit, chair suit and battle damaged Engineers, if the third wave contains a hologram Engineer that's it, isn't it? There aren't any further versions to produce, are there?

.

Agreed, those repaints will be pegwarmers. Oh well....

I know, right!? At this point, the line is really just about Dr. Shaw. If The holographic engineer looks good and comes with an urn (the urn is what seals the deal for me), then ill definitely bite. However, its clear that the fans want shaw. Sadly, i think you are right (lar'ja thwei), holographic engineer screams pegwarmer. I really hope this doesnt kill the line. On the other hand, if my choices are between holographic engineer with urn/ampule accessory or nothing at all...ill take the holo. eng. w/ urn all day long. i just want to see the holographic effect. I hope it looks good.

I was in the mall and saw the Chair Suit engineer, and finally just went and got it.

That thing is amazing. Beautiful detail and I really love the helmet. I like the texture of the suit a lot too.

my only problem with the figure is that, first one leg won't really move, it feels like the joint on the upper leg connecting to the body is stuck. I guess I can try heat but I didn't like that. the whole thing is stuck on the leg joint.

second, is that just like the Predator toys, the Engineer has this "Cowboy ready to draw" pose to him. I tried moving his arms around but it just looks silly.
