Where is all this coming from now? They're 7". The Jakks figures were maybe...8" at the most? And this is a devastating thing? That they're the standard size of a million other NECA figures?

And where are all the 'exclusively Rocky collectors' finding these? I'm jealous. :D

Ya, it doesn't even look like they are that much bigger.
Rocky's knees and waist line up, I'd say Jakks is half an inch taller.

Let's not forget though, NECA's making these figures to match Stallone's size, JAKKS just slapped together figures from wrestling figure parts, scales were off, anatomy often way off. It's sad that JAKKS seems better at the Stallone likeness, but at least the physique of the NECA figures is more accurrate. I love the sculpt on the Rocky 6 JAKKS figure, great portrait, but the body has more muscle to it than Stallone ever had, let alone at that age.

I have to disagree with you on the Neca physiques, Rocky and Apollo look like there fighting for the flyweight or featherweight championship, very thin, don't look like heavyweights physiques to me.

Doesn't seem far off to me.

Certainly more like Stallone's build than this.

Looking at that pic I have to agree with you. It's to bad Neca can't make these at 1/6. I have a Neca talking Ali 18 inch figure and that size would be awesome to get for a Rocky fig, to bad it well never happen.

NECA seems to only dive into 18" for special occassions at this point, makes sense, as they tend to be peg warmers, the 7" stuff moves well for the most part, but I see the 18" ones collect dust in the shops around me that sell NECA.

I like the two Jakks figures i have,Rocky III (black/gold trunks) and Drago(red trunks) but, they'll look silly next to these Neca versions. Almost like comparing POTF figures to VOTC figures.

For the few people who already have these in hand is there any chance we can see a few more pics

I got the full set today, the undamaged Stallone sculpt looks a lot better in person. Paint is great on both as well, from the sweat and blood and brand of gloves...perfect! It looks like Series 2 and 3 will be even better.

I like the NECA figures. Very different to what Jakks did with the Rocky line, but certainly more realistic and less cartoon-like. The trunks on the NECA figures do seem short, but then it was the 70s and 80s....!
Thanks to everyone for suggestions on where to get the small Jakks prototype belt. The search continues in case you hear of one going anytime soon.
I wanted to start another angle to this discussion...who's been to Philly and visited the locations from the Rocky movies? A stupid question for Rocky aficionados like yourselves, perhaps! But I went last year and had an amazing time. I had a private tour with a guy who played clips from the movies on DVD whenever we stopped at a particular location. We arrived outside the pet shop and were watching one of the opening scenes from Rocky and a train passed overhead just like in the movie...it was the most surreal (but amazing) visit. Would be interested to hear other impressions of Philly and the movie locations.

Post some pics! What is the full Series 1...just Rocky 1 Creed and Rocky?

Where are people getting these!?! Tell me! Are they showing up at TRU? Or just local comic shops?

Fantastic pictures, the last few made me laugh.

Been off work the last few days and today decided to watch the first four Rocky films in anticipation of the figures, always look forward to Rocky 4 but forget how great 1 and 2 are.

Nice pics man,i would love to visit Philly sometime but since i would come a long way i would need more than just the Rocky shooting locations.

Yes they are supposed to be that short. The attention to details on these figures are amazing, the physique, movie accurate expressions and the trunks. One detail i want to point out is the Rocky IV trunks which is light blue and look like a 10 year old washed out, shrinked clothing which it is supposed to be.

Jakks had a good run with theirs, they made just about every supporting character plus more which is why i love those Jakks figures so much.If it wasn't for the wide selection of characters and did what Neca does, just Rocky and his opponent they wouldn't be that big of a deal for me,because to be honest, they are indeed cartoonish looking figures with recycled parts from their wrestling figures.
