Exactly, NECA did flood the market with these guns. It might have evn been better to hold off the 3-in-1 model till Portal 3. That game (assuming it gets made, which is a good bet) will be huge and NECA could have those guns ready for the launch, since the design work has already been done.
They'll probably rerelease them for Portal 3. Releasing them both then and now doubles the potential profits.

I'm really wanting Atlas, P-Body, Glados and Chell figures though. You'd have thought they'd be top priority. Glados could be huge and expensive but I'd still instantly buy her. My videogame figure collection just isn't complete without her.

This is Valve we are talking about. There is a small chance a sequel will come soon, but they will probably start teasing it and wait 4+ years to even officially announce it :lol

Yea, my biggest issue with NECA is that they're always late to the party. We just got Borderlands 1 (a game from '09) figures a couple months before the release of Borderlands 2 (2012).

Given that Portal 2 came out in early '11 and blew up within that first month, you would think NECA would strike while the iron is hot and get some figures out by the end of that year. Here we are approaching '13 and NECAs still plugging away at long dead franchises like Freddy and Robocop and ignoring the easy money of something like Portal 2, which is here, now, and relevent.

This is very true... really sad, but true. :monkey2

So, is there a reason why the Team Fortress figures are limited to 10,000 pieces each?
Here in Malaysia, NECA stuff just sort of shows up whenever it feels like it; can't imagine making it "limited" will help much.

Valve can't count to 3 remember. Team fortress 2, half life 2: episode 2 L4D2, Portal 2, DOTA2(TBA but still).

i bought their P-body portal gun and im thinking of selling it. It just doesn't fit in with my collection and theres only so many times i can take someone saying, what is it suppose to be?.(not many gamers in my family)

I'm in the same spot. I bought the P-Body because the Chell gun sold-out so fast (and the whole NECA pulling it fiasco) and the P-Body was a SDCC exclusive. I always knew the Atlas would come out, but I thought it would be much later, so I jumped at the P-Body. Now, I'm not really a prop guy and the initial joy of shooting Portals has worn off. Plus, looking at it reminds me of how crummy I feel about NECA releasing the 3-in-1 for cheaper.

I think it's just NECA trying to inflate rarity. Unless it's a con exclusive NECA figure, their stuff is usually not that hard to find.

Oh if ya'll don't understand let me explain it for you. TF2 Players are bat-**** crazy.

I have over $1000 in TF2 virtual hats and items that in no way enhance gameplay and simply look cool.

That Plastic 3A Sandvich, that shot up to like $400, not for the sandvich but for the code it came with to redeem an item that the people buying it didn't even know what it was going to be. :lol

I don't think any Tf2 merch is going to have any problem selling, and if it does all they have to do is include a redemption code for an in game item, it will sell out immediately even if whatever the actual piece neca released is literal garbage stamped with the tf2 logo.

silversnail toronto got Gordon and smoker in yesterday. grabbed 2 Gordon's for $21.99 passed on smoker. Gordon looks better in person but around the coller isn't accurate as other's have mentioned. I kept thinking how expensive the TF2 would be if I buy 1 of each in both colors, but I guess I can sell the codes that come with the figures and they will pay for themselves.

If Gordon is not at TRU this weekend (when they usually stock), I'm just going to give up and buy one online.

so these new tf2 figures are limited to 10,000 pieces each. how much are regular figures limited to?

I need to grab more Gordon freeman figure's cause if they never make a headcrab zombie i will need the extra headcrab, but right now I'm rather broke to be spending so much of late plus PO's for the hot toys batman stuff coming in soon. I'll have to wait but Gordon will wither sell very well or not that much who knows. the more we buy the better chance they will make more characters.

I scored Dr Freeman at my local Hastings; no idea what he normally is, but this one set me back $23 at that store - I wasn't about to argue as my local TRU is 60 miles away for me now

hit 2 LCS this weekend, one had 2 gordon's on the peg the other had 1. guess they are selling well. but Neca has a reputation of just doing main characters so we may never get some zombies or combine soldiers. nabbed 4, I need the extra headcrabs and would like to customize 1 to have a more accurate collar, anyone know if his head can pop on/off easily? plus repaint extra gravity gun to be the zero point GG.

also does anyone know if the sales of the TF2 figures will determine the fate of the heavy and soldier getting made, or is Neca waiting to see how the figures will sell to determine weather it's worth making the same characters in blue?

7" Chell! 20 points of articulation, includes base and the portal gun lights up! February release. Limited to 15,000. :panic:
