Man, that sucks, hairlesswookie. I think you're on the right track, though. It's obvious the buyer misread the auction or wasn't aware of the Asia Edition and now regrets making the purchase.

I just hope Ebay will take the time to understand that your auction was well described and accurate and not get confused like the buyer apparently did.

The Asia Edition only had 100 produced and had a completely different mask than the regular Ancient Edition, which was distributed by Sideshow. The Asia was also a toy convention exclusive figure that was only sold through Hot Toys.

I once went through a similar situation with some MOC GI Joe figures. I sold them to a guy for $4,000, who claimed he was a collector and wanted them for his collection. After he got them he tried to claim they weren't in the condition that I said they were and tried to get over $500 back from me. He didn't know that I'd discovered that he'd already sold 2/3 of them on EBay for over $6,000. I knew he was only trying to increase his profits by trying to rip me off. So I let him know I was on to him, and told him to forget it. Really pissed me off becauce I don't trade or especially sell to dealers, one of the reasons I "RARELY" trade now to anyone.

hairlessWookie, contact EBay/Pay-pal about this guy ASAP. Provide them with emails, photo's and testamony from the previous owner and put this guy down.

It keeps getting better. I just checked my email and now he has opened a claim with paypal...even better is that he is describing it as "significantly different than described." Yet he's still listing the armor modified--
"Two, it comes with 2 right retractable wrist blade armors. I have all of the AVP Predators (Celtic, Chopper, Scar, Elder) and they do not come like this. The other armor is always with the electronic
panels."

Umm...he still doesn't even have the correct figure. What a moron. And he keeps referring to Sideshow's site for pictures. They aren't even the manufacturer, Hot Toys is. I know Sideshow distributed them, but why does he keep referring to their site and not Hot Toys'?? They didn't even sell the "Asia Exclusive" hence the name "Asia Exclusive."

Just read this post. Hairlesswookie, you had better jump on the defense quick. In my experience with EBAY/Pay-pal if they side with him on his claim they will re-pay him from your account (getting your money from your balance or other ways) , and he'll most likely get to keep the figure.

I don't get this guy, Wook. I mean, even IF he refers to the Sideshow version, doesn't that version have two wrist-blade gauntlets, too? Can't he notice that?

Also, Sideshow's website DOES have the Asia edition as well, but they call it the Japanese Exclusive. Either way, you should point out to him that the link he sent you clearly shows two bladed gauntlets. Just stress your counterpoints over and over, seeing as that's all he does.

This might help with the gauntlets. If you did not install the hoses on the mask, I can only assume that installing them is over his head, and he cannot figure it out.

Also sounds like the guy is making excuses because he might felt like he paid too much and wants his money back. If he has all the AVP figures and is "into them", he should be able to readily identify the differences between them all...especially if he was seeking the Exclusive Ancient Preds.

The guy is an idiot, you're on the right track and hopefully eBay will rule in your favor.

The economy has affected Predator sales!

Granted, I sold my Ancient Predator (Sideshow Ed.) for about $550 used a month ago. That was about the average going price for that one...I think the Asian goes for higher but its price point is lower as well.

I think also with all the products that HT shells out, people are spending their money on that new stuff instead of trying to collect the old. Unless they are hardcore fans of that line.

Ah ok, good to know. I don't have the Asia Ex, so that's good that it dropped and I have a better chance at this guy.

You do realize you won't be able to use PayPal again, right?

And, the minute ANYTHING happens in your PayPal account...like if you've set up an automatic payment for a membership on a web service, PayPal will have access to your account and automatically pull money from it.

If you use PayPal for ANYTHING from this point on...they're going to get their money.
