Up to episode 4, really enjoying it, for me it's just as good as Daredevil it has real depth and a gritty reality that's so refreshing well written/scripted and acted I would really like to see the original X-men given this sort of series.

Finished it. Was a decent watch. Though it was 2-3 episodes too long. Daredevil was better. But yea other than some mentions of a green man and the new york invasion, not much makes this seem like a Marvel related series.

A solid first season for a new show. Bonus for establishing such a great Luke Cage, we know that show will hit the ground running.

I'm enjoying the Netflix series a lot more than the MCU films to be honest. Only have 2 episodes left of Jessica Jones and I think it's been great.

Can't wait for Luke Cage's series, but most impatient for Iron Fist. Hopefully we will get a casting announcement soon since I think his character would be best introduced in Luke's series.

I just finished the last episode. Gosh, it was all so wholesome and Disney-fied. I think I'll rewatch it with my kids.

"Stay tuned after Gravity Falls for a new episode of Jessica Jones! Here on Disney XD!"

This show makes all the gender bending, race swapping, LGBTizing of existing characters we've been seeing lately all the more dumb and annoying. I'm two episodes in. But it stars a strong female character and a kick ass black guy. That's who they started as in the comics. No political correct update needed. Stop changing everybody's everything and make your own gay/ethnic/lady hero and leave the classics alone.

Liking this show so far.

:exactly: :goodpost:

You are aware that Carrie Ann Moss' character, Hogarth, is a dude in the comics, right? This guy, to be specific:

...is now this lady:

Which has them crossing off two of the things on your list of things you say they shouldn't do. I get your point, but I just was a bit amused by the irony of where it was directed, is all.:lol

^ Had no idea. I had never heard of Jessica Jones until this thread was started. I am less likely to care when it's secondary (or tertiary) characters. For example, Judi Dench as M didn't bug me. In fact, she worked out brilliantly in that she was painting Bond as a relic of the past in a progressive world. It added to the narratives of Goldeneye and Casino Royale very well. It also wasn't a big deal because M is just a title. She took over for a man and then a man took over for her. Money Penny and Felix Lighter being black? Eh. I didn't mind. They're not big enough roles with enough backstory to affect much.

My rant had more to do with the likes of Lady Thor, gay Green Lantern, Hispanic Spider-Man, and this weird desire from people to cast a black man as James Bond. They want heroes to appeal to all these groups of people when instead they should just make new, original characters.

I finished episode 4 on Saturday. And I'm torn about it. The whole show creeps me out and makes me very uneasy with the Purple Man and how he works. And that's the point, so I guess it's succeeding...but it's creepy to the point where I struggle putting it on. I don't necessarily like that, but that's more on me than it is on the writers, I suppose.

I find Ritter to be a great actress, BUT...I don't buy her physically as an ex-superhero. She's just so...scrawny. Luke looks like he's going to break her every time they hook up.

I do really like Luke Cage's characterization. Not a big fan of his in the comics, but I like the live-action version.

finished it, was decent but didn't really capture my attention fully. Didn't feel like a Marvel product at all, the use of her powers wasn't very well executed with awkward camera angle choices used. I kept watching because of Tennant, the Luke Cage guy was decent too but Jessica Jones herself got annoying to me.

So far I'm four episodes in. Love it, pretty much does everything better than Dare Devil accept for the action, the actings better, the writings better, the camera work is fantastic, so much character and thought goes into what lenses and angles they employ, the tilt shift photography is genius, especially with Kilgrave as the villain. Can't wait to finish the series up, Dare Devil dragged quite a bit for me but this series is on point so far.

Haha that's how she was in the comics too. She wasn't really built at all, Plus, she has super strength and Luke even called out how a little girl like her did the stuff she did in the bar fight. People can still be skinny as hell and have super strength. I mean, would people say the same thing about Molly Hayes?

I guess I'm just saying she doesn't look like a fighter at all. There's lots of thin people who are built and can believably kick butt...she doesn't look like one of them.

For an MCU that's trying to be more grounded and realistic, I'd like to see a little more muscle on her, that's all.

but...it's a super power so she doesn't need muscle. :dunno

:exactly: Same reason why I don't see any issues with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

I personally enjoyed Jessica Jones more than Daredevil, but they were both outstanding. I loved the cameo from Daredevil's show and the role was larger than I could've imagined. I can't wait for all these shows to be interwoven.

The whole cast was so excellent! The characters were written so well too.

I love how Trish Walker was basically the second lead of the show. I loved her character and the actress did an amazing job in the role, IMO.

I really hope her character continues to be a main part of the show moving onto second season and the Defenders, and that she'll become Hellcat!
