Mmmmm... DO-NUTS!

Please. I wasn't implying that this line would be ending soon, just that there is no guarantee that SSC will be making Star Wars 12" figures a few years from now. That's not "insider information", it's just plain fact and logic. Now, like you guys, I would have to assume that this line will continue for a long, long time. But you're kidding yourselves if you think it's written in stone. So many more unexpected things have happened, especially when LFL is involved. So tone down the "it's okay, we'll get Vader in 2017" mantra just a tad.

Sure, next you'll be telling us that Master Replicas is going to lose the Star Wars license!

"Wondering tortured soul who had a grotsque accident"? Is there hope yet?

We didn't they just make Tarkin, Piet, or Motti? All better known then this guy.

That's what perplexes me. I like the figure and I ordered it, but my brain is having trouble processing this obscure character being produced solo. The Endor troops were obscure and non-existent, but by putting them all out around the same time, it felt like a wave and made some sense. As an Imperial officer released all by itself, it seems an odd character choice when you have more prominent individuals like Grand Moff Tarkin, Admiral Piett, General Veers. I'd be curious to hear from Sideshow what the thought process was behind choosing this guy of all people, unless the idea was to gauge reaction to the uniform and such on a no name so if there was griping, they could work on it before Tarkin and the other prominent Imperials.

WOW, what a true and utter disappointment, I really though (thanks to those stupid clues) that we were going to be finally getting a well deserved Vader figure. After two year of waiting...I guess sideshow is banking on us waiting even longer and they are not willing to invest the dollars to produce a Vader, but I feel the line faltering a bit with these weak announcements.

I knew it wouldn't be Vader but this should have been Tarkin. And I can't believe $60 for no accessories and a plain uniform... I'll pass.

I don't think SSC has chosen not to do Vader for 2 years, but is looking at it as Vader being the single most important figure that will ever be made in this line. I think if collectors were given the proposition that SSC will make 1 1/6 Star Wars figure ever, what do you want us to do, Vader would win by a landslide, and in seeing that, and hearing all the HT-Medi armor comparison and griping, Sideshow sees Vader as a make or break piece; if Vader comes out dissappointing fans, it could be a downfall for the line because people would judge all armored pieces against him and lose hope and may even grow doubts about non-armored characters. My gut tells me Sideshow wants to take their time with Vader to make it as worthwhile to us as they feel they possibly can; the right under body, the write helmet design, really focus on every minute detail so they'll leave collector's all in awe of what they accomplish. There is such a demand for Vader, they know he'll be under scrutiny far more than any figure to date, and look how much the ones so far have been scrutinized, they want to do well with him and much as I want him done, I want him done right too and I'll wait for that. Medicom's Vader is great, lots of good things about that, but it also has some nagging flaws that I'd love to see SSC's patience overcome, like the poor method for keeping the chest box on him.

Well said.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that Sideshow's first "armored" figure is going to be the Scouttrooper. It's only partially armored so they wouldn't have to get everything right initially, it would go well with the already released Endor troopers, and they could reuse a substantial amount of the armor tooling for the ROTS Kashyyyk "elite" clonetroopers if they were so inclined (and yes, I may have missspelled "Kashyyyk"; I can never remember how many y's it should get).

Ill bet we see TantiveIV millitary figures soon - that was prob. the thought behind it -- another diorama set up.

At least this crowd is a bit more positive than the thread about the figure... fans can be downright whiney?!?

I can see that, but then again, Vader is the same, some chest armor and a helmet, nothing big in the armor department as far as quantity. Because Vader is so limited in the armor, that's why I think his delay is about delivering the best Vader they can. Boushh's helmet and armor show they can do the ammounts Vader would need, but it all has to be just right before they give it to us.

Maybe he comes with two weapons... the accessory lists aren't always correct. And they can change over time.

It's kinda cool that they would make a character who only appeared on screen for like five seconds, that means that all the characters who had real screen time will be guaranteed Commander Gree figure.

I really hope the next five figures that come out are:
1.Yoda
2.Commander Gree
3.Dooku
4.Stormtroopers(People would buy more than one of this one)
5.Vader

I'd say there's a much better chance of seeing the following characters next:

1. General Dodonna
2. Agen Kolar
3. Mon Mothma
4. Rebel Soldier (Hoth gear)
5. Lobot

-Snags

Is this supposed to be the 'TK421, Why aren't you at your post?' dude?

And why in the HELLoweeny would I want to spend the time to place a code in an unknown item to see if it works(see the current Spook front page)?
