Here is the most comprehensive review: https://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/review-the-beatles-remasters-1963-66-219124

Seems the general consensus is that for the first few albums (Please Please Me and With the Beatles) the mono set sounds better except for one or two tracks. But from 1964 on stereo is the way to go. (Thought there are moments on the each Stereo album which loose "something" sonically which was present either in the MONO versions or subsequent remixes like the 2000 Yellow Submarine album remix).

I hope your MONO set arrives a-OK Ween. I just got done reading that people who ordered through Amazon are now being told they may or may not receive their order.

People are going crazy, and then you also have the eBay sellers eating it with a spoon.

Once mine arrives (hopefully soon, and intact) it will never leave me.

These two boxsets are grails for me. I'm so glad I decided to go for both.

From Amazon's web site...

Amazon said:
09/02/09 UPDATE: The manufacturer has informed us that they will be producing additional mono box sets due to high demand. While the mono box set will still remain a limited production item, it will no longer be limited to 10,000 copies for the U.S. market, as originally reported.

We will soon have more mono box sets back in stock. Sign up here to be notified as soon as they are available for order. We will likely have limited quantities, so check back here often for the latest information, or check your email frequently to make sure that you don’t miss out.

Yeah, I saw that Lonnie. But, it's only for the second shipment (beginning of October, from what I read)....

No matter, hopefully mine will be here tomorrow.

I'm going to pick up my Stereo boxset after work as well tomorrow.

Well, I seem to have two mono sets coming. One place that I placed an order sent me an email saying they couldn't fill the order, so I ordered elsewhere, just now I get an email saying that they shipped it today. I'm going to email the other place and see if they'd be willing to cancel since I haven't gotten a shipping notice yet, but I'm doubting it.

I'm very torn between the two sets, but I think I'll just try and get the stereo set since stereo is the technology I've always known. It's just too much extra $$ to put out for both. I really, really wish they would've put Mono and Stereo on the same cd. That would've been perfect!

I agree. Thats what the Beach boys did with Pet Sounds.

Here is a hilariously well written review: https://www.avclub.com/articles/chuck-klosterman-repeats-the-beatles,32560/

Pop archivists might be intrigued by this strange parallel between the Beatles and the Stones catalogue—it often seems as if every interesting thing The Rolling Stones ever did was directly preceded by something the Beatles had already accomplished, and it almost feels like the Stones completely stopped evolving once the Beatles broke up in 1970. But this, of course, is simply a coincidence. I mean, what kind of bozo would compare the Beatles to The Rolling Stones?

I might actually pick up the mono box down the road now that it's not limited. But I can understand people being ticked off if they bought it just because they thought it was limited. And especially if they paid ebay prices. :monkey4

I still think stereo is the way to go. :monkey3

Amazon already has more mono sets in stock. Not sure how many they got though. I'm sure some of the people who got one on eBay are going to be ticked.

I noticed that those were going for upwards of $460 last night. :lol

The place were I got mine is now selling them for $539!!

I haven't heard from the other place that I ordered one from. If I do end up with two, I probably won't be able to sell it on eBay because so many will have them up.

Just got back from my neighboring town and the closest Best Buy to me. They have NO box sets of any kind left. Walmart doesn't have any either, if they carried them at all.

Best Buy had the Beatles Rockband set up but it was right up at the front of the store and I didn't want to try it with everyone looking.

I got my mono set in the mail today and got an email from Best Buy that my stereo set is on backorder. :(

2 of the discs, Help and Rubber Soul, also come in stereo.

You know, when I look at this small box and know it cost me over $200 I think I should be slapped silly. :lol
