New Buffy Line Discussion

I'm not a big fan of the chair but the sculpt is awesome.

I already have the Buffy PF so I'm not sure if I'll get this one or not.

I'll definitely get Faith and Willow though.

^^^ Then Buffy is a must! You can't single out Buffy from the line and still buy Willow and Faith! That's like buying a Twinkie and saying you don't want the cream filling. The two go together.

It's just not right....

Now this I'm excited for, in the video though it sounds like they are just focusing on the girls because of the statement he made. That is fine with me and Faith is my most wanted but I will get all of them.

But the thing is, if they are going to make a Faith and Willow at something near 1/4 scale (I suspect these will be around 1/5 scale), then why the hell not continue the existing line and make them as PF's

cuz it's more cost efficient to sculpt an entire statue then it is to get a design team to create mixed media. especially for a risky line like buffy which will probably tank after 3 offerings anyway.

Im really looking forward to this!!! Glad to see Buffy collectables surfacing again at SS (No offence to those electric tiki collectors, actually i saw some in person the other day, they arent too bad, just not for me).
Personally i cant wait for Faith!! (As long as it looks like Eliza!)

This is an actual statue, not a continuation of the 1/6th line.

cuz it's more cost efficient to sculpt an entire statue then it is to get a design team to create mixed media. especially for a risky line like buffy which will probably tank after 3 offerings anyway.

really... I would have thought it was much of a muchness. A large part of the sculpt that's hard to get right is the likeness and that's the same in either case.
Depending on how much mixed media is used, much of the rest of the sculpt in a PF can be very basic, just designed for overall shape and hardly painted at all. Angel and Spike PF's being classic examples.

Besides, I expect these to be around $200, Buffy will be for sure. Add another $50 and you got a Faith PF (think Mystique PF, just not blue).

So really, the more I think about it, the more disappointed I get.

I just hope, being that it's inspired by there comiquette line, that it's still in 1/6 scale. If so, this just became my Buffy center piece. Can't wait to see all the characters they do, and I hope they don't just stop in the middle again like they did with the 12" line.

Typical. More 'toys for the boys' crap. *sigh* I would have liked to have seen a Giles, or Angel/Spike.

But then judging by the daft looking Buffy prototype (who's bright idea was that throne anyway??) I doubt that even If they had considered doing the men that they would have appealed to me personally.

In an idea world I would have liked to see more 1/6th scale figures, not more lumps of polystone that you can do bugger all with.

It's great to see Buffy back! I just wish the prototype looked as good. I think it looks ridiculous! That chair is too over the top for me, and the 'pricking my finger' pose is laughable. Major FAIL and to think I was pretty excited to see what they had in store. Faith and Willow do look promising though.

Finally got around to watching the video today and I have to say I'm optimistic. The Buffy looks interesting but I'm waiting on the Faith even more not to mention the Willow with the werewolf costume is a fun one to anticipate. My only hope (which probably won't come true) is that the bases connect, Willow on the side of Buffy, I'm picturing Xander on the other side with Giles behind them even though the throne won't make sense in that set up would still be an awesome site to see.

That would be amazing! I would love to see that.

I will be very unhappy if they only do female characters also. We need a mix. My electric tiki set up looks really...I can't think of a good word for this but, lonely, without males. I'm not happy about it and when we get Spike, if we get Spike, that is only 1 to the 6 females released. Boo! So I hope this new line brings us male statues after Willow.

I didn't think the spike human face was off. It looks pretty good to me. And I'm pretty picky, too.

I've never seen the Angel premium format in person. The spike definitely looks better in person than I thought it did in sideshow's pics. Maybe the same will hold true with Angel.

The Angel pf does look better in person. But if you look at it, you also see a George W. Bush. I noticed that a while ago and now I'm freaked out, haha.
