I might not buy this if what everyone is saying is true. It looks good, probably better than the V1. However I don't condone what HT may be doing. They could have just given us this figure last year and be done with it. Instead it looks like they want to milk the character and collectors. Not suprising seeing as how popular the Joker is. What is suprising to me is that nobody has complained about the release of this figure. It really is gut wrenching to think my "Ultimate Jokers" might be considered ^^^^ now to "hardcore" collectors.
I don't like all this talk on the boards about "improving" the V1 with V2 head Joker figure? Don't see what's wrong with him. Sure they both had their shortcomings such as the velcro vest, some inaccurate colors, and a short chain, but a perfect figure doesn't exist in my opinion. It's amusing to me how far a person is willing to go for a "movie accurate" figure. What line is drawn between a collectible toy and an actual prop replica? How far is someone willing to go before a collectible figure becomes a pricey movie prop? If people want detail to the extreme why not just pursue actual props? I find it disturbing how far some are willing to go to have the best of something as unimportant as this. People were willing to throw down 500 dollars to have a tailored 1/6 suit just so they can say they have the most realistic figure? This one will probably have "intended" flaws as well, so people can go nuts for a 5th or a 6th Joker.
Personally, I hope this release doesn't come with the HT body, the pin stripe pants, the hex shirt, the regular gloves, the tie, the socks, the under coat, and the knife. If it does what was the point of even making the V1 figure? The ^^^^ing knife? What would have happened if people wised up and didn't buy the original version knowing that this one would eventually emerge? Thought Hot Toys was above double dipping, guess not. Things are becoming too political. With all these people willing and ready to submit it kind of makes me question if the economy is really down right now.
Have to wait and see. If it's Cop Joker with rifle, new purple jacket with grenades, alternate hands and new head (hopefully smiling) for 150 I'll buy. I would have been content with just the Cop Joker really. But if it's close to the 300 dollar mark and has another regular Joker version included I'll pass. If it's a completely new joker and not just an extra head, coat/grenades and hands with the cop version I'll be highly disappointed. If it's another ultimate joker, then I've lost any respect I had with HT. I'm fine with extras but releasing four Jokers so close together in a short time frame is just ridiculous in my opinion.
