I don't think HT will release a full new purple suit joker, because if they do, when future figures come people won't buy them and instead will wait to see if newer versions are coming out after.
I think cop joker will come with the purple coat and extra headsculpt, and to justify the DX tag and the rise of price most likely will come with even more extras such as a nurse joker outfit or another headsculpt.

Our MMS DX series presents upgraded high-end collectibles by adding more life-like elements and brand new techniques invented by our in-house engineers.

This line is supposedly for "Upgraded" stuff, which suggests taking existing figures and adding to them to fix their original problems. i.e. someone talked to the people at Hot Toys and told them about PC Software makers in the U.S. and how they release unfinished, rushed products to the market and how LATER they release patches and fixes. Guess they left out the part about how those "fixes" are usually FREE.

I want the Cop figure so I'll be getting this figure regardless, but if I weren't, and I had to get it for the coat or pay eBay parted out prices, I'd be totally ticked.

To each his own, but all smiles here.

The problem is collectors are very obsessed creatures. We always have to have the best, preferably in the purchase of a first released form of something. I have no problem paying dollars for something that becomes available that renders an aspect of my collection inferior. What I had was previously the best on the market, but not anymore. That's how everything with a price tag works. I will gladly pay parted out prices for the new coat, and am extremely happy they are remaking it, new and improved (one glance of the V1 coat and who would not want a better option available?).

In fact, it will probably save me a bundle of money because if the coat is good enough, I won't have to pay top dollar for Snake Eater's Harue colleague's possible joker suit commission.

I don't know, I don't see anything listed on their site stating price subject to change, and when I pre-ordered the Takara Batman there, even though it went up in price a few weeks later, my order was honored at the price I was locked into.

BBTS has a no fee cancellation, I think I'm going to order from there just to take a chance, in the event Toys2 and elsewhere come in $200 plus.

Good call, I am going to do the same right now.

True. But since Patches and Fixes for PC Software don't require a USB slot because they're either on discs or online downloads, that's irrelevant.

And I'm 2% sure the HT T-800 has a USB slot. Ok more like 1 1/2 % sure.

We might be overthinking this. What I got from the teaser is that it would come with the grenade rig coat and maybe another Joker head.

I didn't even get that. Sure the purple suited Joker in the backdrop has a seemingly unreleased open hand but thats it. It'll be great if cop joker comes with an additional suit and a few new sculpted parts for another figure - I just don't understand why everyones talking about it like its officially confirmed already. This was a teaser for Cop Joker and it had purple suit Joker in the background which could quite possibly be there purely to make it clearer for dumbies what this cop character is. If you guys are right - great. It won't bother me at all and it won't make me think my other Jokers are obsolete.

But HT linked this to that mysterious piece of purple cloth that shipped out to a few people... and they made deliberate mention of same. Purple cloth? Joker posed in background with new hand? It all seems to connect.
