Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I wish they had done the blue cloak the same way the did Tom's duffle coat. I think one piece with both coat and cloak sculpted together would have been a better and less cluttered way to go. As it is, the cloak looks terrible. The only thing that interests me in this set are the two daleks.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Thanks for the news. That is very sad.
I saw him perform on an episode of Sarah Jane Adventures. It was good to see him in the Doctor Who universe one last time.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Wish they had included a Necros Peri instead of another imperial Dalek.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I suppose the issue the had with the cloak was articlation in the arm area, it looks more like a clunky cape rather than a regal cloak. I actually haven't picked up any classic Daleks or any version of Davros yet but i second kl241 on having a Peri in the set rather than another Dalek.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Does Colin have shares in CO or something because he's getting way more sets than his era deserved and is so far the only Classic Doctor to get a companion that's not a tin dog.

In light of the recent news a Brigadier figure is now WAY overdue and some more stuff from the Hartnell & Troughton eras wouldn't go amiss either.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

So they basically took the prototype action figure before the joints were added and made it a statue.

:sleep

I might be interested if they do the S12 Tom with the grinning head.

Yeah not interested at all..

On the 5 inch front I found out today that the Destiny Set Tom Baker will come with the INACCURATE season 12 scarf. Not the season version. I am very disappointed about this. He will have a new shirt and boot sculpt though.

What?!?! :slap I guess they're determined to screw up Tom Baker's costume in everyone of these Davros sets.

Why would he need a new boot sculpt? They were the same buccaneer style as the S18 ones.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

:dunno

All I know is that I just bought a new Regeneration Davison figure for the scarf so I can repaint it. :monkey2

There's a "Destiny of the Daleks" set on the way?

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

There sure is. :)/:(

Still not the "Genesis" set I want but the Michael Wisher mask was used for that story so it'll be the same Davros figure in the set :)

I think CO are taking the piss with Tom's attires. The most popular Doctor and they keep getting it wrong or painting his headsculpts badly whereas their beloved Colin and Peter are all flawless :slap

It gives me another custom project to work on though as the scarf from Regeneration Davison is easily sacrificed......I might use the Regen head from on the version without celery.

I got my "Sontaran Experiment" set today and here's what I think,

Styre is one of the best figures CO have made. About as perfect as can be.

Tom has a badly painted head ( again ) and out of the box isn't 100% accurate although mine will be once the glue dries :)

The pod looks awesome until you open the door. The half assed interior details make it look like a sci-fi public toilet, complete with a 'phone number offering dubious "services" on the door :lol

That said it's still awesome to have the pod and when the inevitable "Time Warrior" set is announced I'll pre-order although I'm slightly concerned as to whether they'll try and get away with repacking Styre as Linx.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I didn't bother getting any of the sets yet, the Sontaran one was going to be my next one but i dont really want any more Tom's just the Sontaran. That Troughten statue looks really poor its just an oversized figure on a podium, definate miss for me.

If you wanted the Sontaran set but not the Tom, I'd buy it off you for the same RRP as a single carded figure? ( £8.99 )

UPDATE = Pics!

I should send this one to CO as it's what should have come with the figure ,

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

When i can afford the set which should be within the next two weeks hopefully il let you know bcm, definatley saves it being shoved aside in some box if someone else can make use of it.

Concentrating more on the villains this year so unless some amazing release of a Doctor thats a radical change from half-arsed variants we have seen so far i wont be buying any. I so hope CO do come up with with a new Matt sculpt as its a little weak, especially the Fez version which sufers from hardly any definition at all.
