When i can afford the set which should be within the next two weeks hopefully il let you know bcm, definatley saves it being shoved aside in some box if someone else can make use of it.

Concentrating more on the villains this year so unless some amazing release of a Doctor thats a radical change from half-arsed variants we have seen so far i wont be buying any. I so hope CO do come up with with a new Matt sculpt as its a little weak, especially the Fez version which sufers from hardly any definition at all.

The Doctor variants I now want most are,

4th Doctor from "The Talons of Weng-Chiang" ( Sherlock Holmes atttire )

4th Doctor from "The Deadly Assassin" ( Pirate shirt etc )

2nd Doctor from "The Abominable Snowman" ( Big fur coat )

A 'Destiny' set you say...?
Would It be unreasonable to expect the hot Movellan chick to appear or will it be Davros & two bomb-laden Daleks?
At least the parts for my ultimate Season 17 Tom will be available now comprising of;

Season 18 head (with grey hair touched out)
Season 18 Scarf (repainted)
Destiny body

Any customisers out there willing to tackle this for me...?
I was also giving some thought to the TARDIS and for the accurate conversion to the Newbery version it needs a repaint and the later door sign- another job I wish to commission so get in touch...!

That makes the set a lot less desirable to me as I would like a couple more but I'll still get the set for the Tom variant and Davros.

Although it's perhaps wishful thinking I'm hoping the "Genesis" set is being kept to the end because CO are going to spend a bit more money on it and debut a figure of either Sarah Jane or Harry in it.

Any news on a Rory figure? He seems to be unfairly swept under the carpet since CO waste time releasing minor characters such as Hawthorne, Generic Roman and Vampire from Venice.

Nothing yet although I wouldn't be suprised to see a figure emerge with the series 6 lineup.

Looks great in pictures, i got mine today and straight out of the box im pretty disapointed in it. The paint on the Doctors head sculpt is decent for once but the waist coat application is diabolical with some odd licks of paint here and there.
Styre is a really, really decent figure actually and the most positive out of the set and one of CO's best, his paint is brilliant and his articulation is very good, i really enjoy the detail on his outfit also which looks brilliant. ( If i have time tonight il post picture of him next to my custom painted black midget Sontaran.)
The ship is a bit of a let down inside, a shoddy painted thin mould of what i assume is supposed to be a seat yet serves no purpose. It is made of a soft plastic and i will admit i couldn't resist giving a little kick up into my hands since its not at all fragile and its fairly weighty, the external paint apps underneath and around the bottom edge look great, but since its under the base it wont be seen but it's still cool to have a villian vehicle.

Yeah it is sad. I knew this was coming though so prepared by buying a second regen Peter fig to repaint the scarf.

How do you make that mistake?! It's absurd. I can't believe they managed to screw up every single Tom in these Davros sets. Whoever oversees the details on these things needs a do better.

No kidding, it would be somewhat excusable if they were still mass retail releases aimed at kids but they're not.

Here's what the "Genesis" figure should look like,

Losing the scarf from the Regen Davison is no problem as I only really bought that figure to get an early look at the series 18 attire for Tom.

Isn't it weird that they would go out of their way to repaint the old vest/tie but not redo the S. 18 scarf as a s. 17 scarf? It would have been so simple.

Yeah, I can't work out their thinking.

Right from the moment the first Classic Tom was shown I said all they need do for a "Genesis" variant is add the overcoat and swap the hat to the serious head.

So CO swap the vest and use a headsculpt with the wrong hat that never gets painted properly

The scarf is equally dumb, the sculptors would have looked at reference images/footage from season 17 to do the shirt and boots so they would inevitably have seen how he wore the scarf.

A "Time Warrior" set with the 3rd Doctor, Linx & his ship has shown up on ebay,

No suprise there then although the ship is even more inaccurate for that story as the interior was clearly seen and the door was hinged on the opposite side.

All these sets coming at once is nice to see but I can't help but feel there's a lot of half assing going on in order to get them onto shelves.

Thank goodness they actually managed to get Pertwee right in this one. After all the Tom Baker ____ ups, I'm surprised he doesn't have the wrong color jacket or something.
