Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I prefer a half-assed product and a complete collection than a half-assed collection.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Why go 90% if you can go 100%?

I don't like every era of the show so it's pointless buying things from those eras.

The quality has taken such a nosedive in 2011 that I'd sooner go without than have a crappy figure even if it means missing out on characters that I wanted a great deal such as Leela & Scaroth.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Brendan this set is worth it for the new scarf alone. Tom looks great (though I would have opted for a mod with the s.18 head) and you can just display Glover with the alien head (which looks absolutely wonderful, you have to admit). ;)

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I've no problem with the Scaroth head, and the correct scarf with Tom is a bonus but they still didn't bother doing the jacket collar properly and the Mona Lisa will be crappy because it'll be made of that bendy plastic.

With the prices continuing to rise and the quality going the opposite way it's meant I can't overlook the odd bit of half assing the way I used to and my enthusiasm for the line has been ground down to the point where I couldn't care less.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Good news for anyone wanting a Classic figure of Jamie McCrimmon,

At a local convention yesterday ( which I was set to go to until I discovered the bank had taken some cash out for a bill earlier than expected which left me without the required funds  ) Frazer Hines confirmed he's given the OK for one to be made but it's down to whether the BBC will give the final all clear.

EDIT
Katy Manning has also confirmed that she's approved 2 different Jo Grant figures including one based on the attire from "The 3 Doctors".

A Jo Grant figure could go either way, depends on how well CO do with the sculpt we could end up with a new companion or a totally new monster :lol

Apparently Katy Manning approved the first figure but insisted the other one be redone as "it had someone else's mouth"....'89 Joker's perhaps? :rotfl

WST,
You're hardcore! :lol

Can we get a con exclusive 2-pack of her starkers with a Dalek?

As much as I like the Pertwee era Jo is one of the few things about it that I don't....she's down there with Romana II, Mel and the Nu-Who lot on my list of "worst ever" companions.

For me the Brigadier is the defining ally of the 3rd Doctor.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Hand Bots! Who wants to bet we'll get a "Pet Rory" before we get a real Rory?

Rory has already got a Character Building figure and unless Big Chief come to their senses and change their mind he's getting a high end 1:6 scale figure as well.

A CO figure will happen eventually.

They're also rereleasing Leela, this time with added autograph.

Quite how this makes up for the dodgy sculpting, inconsistent paint apps, badly assembled parts and the packaging error I don't know but I gave up trying to work out CO's logic a long while ago.
