Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

The new Dr.Who logo looks nice!..would love to have a black t-shirt with the DW logo on it.Surely they will be printing off some shirts with this.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Maybe that's a Richard Hurndall figure and not a Hartnell. My mistake..

A Richard Hurndall sculpt would have made a better 1st Doctor variant than the black & white version IMO.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I'd buy a Peter Cushing Doctor and also a Richard E Grant Doctor from "Scream of the Shalka" as I could have them as Doctors 10 & 11.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

My wife just got a new camera so I tested it out here in the office and took an informal video of my current desk "display".

<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/MPvzOuANr8I&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="https://www.youtube.com/v/MPvzOuANr8I&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

Pertwee should be coming tomorrow.

Peter Cushing is my favorite actor of all time. I would love a figure of him to go with the CO figs in my collection. Where is the McCoy action figure?

Had Peter Cushing not already played the Doctor he would have been an incredible Master IMO.

Based on what I've read elsewhere I believe the McCoy sculpt was approved months ago so I would guess the first figures are in the final stages of preperation for release, which seems likely to be next year when both the Classics and Nu-Who lines get a relaunch to coincide with the next full TV series. Unless FPI drop the pre-order on us all in the run up to Christmas that is.

I think the real question is which version will come first, the "Ghost Light" one currently rumored to be in the 11 Doctor box set, or one with the hat & umbrella that I reckon will be in a 2-pack with the Special Weapons Dalek.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Ghost Light McCoy is part of the "rumored" box set. The carded McCoy will be the light jacket with hat and umbrella.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Ahem. Marc... I believe you have something to share here.

New Tom Baker variant. I love the long coat, tie and vest. I wish it was an unhatted head and Smiling variant though.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Unless you meant Pertwee.... He has arrived and I will post a video of him in a about an hour.

First impression:

The hair is not as stark white as I had feared.
The cloak is really easy to get off (I am letting the Dalek Pertwee where the cloak).
The pain job and likeness are DW's best to date (the eyes not withstanding).
He looks great next to my custom TARDIS. Now I just need to make an "Out of Order" sign for it. :D

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

haha I meant the new Tom. Like I said, this should be the big chain exclusive in the US to highlight the Classics. Everyone knows Tom. I'll likely get it even though I still never got the Adventure Set.. or most of the first wave of Classics, or the Dalek packs :lol So far it's been just the Doctors.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

For me, right now, Im just happy I should have all 11 Doctors by SDCC 2010. Maybe then I'll go back and get a few other things, maybe not. Really hope that rumor of the updated 10 is true though. Toms arms look like they'd be a great starting point for 10. They already have the good head too. As it stands, he looks very out of place with the current line up.

New figure of Tom just in time for Christmas!!! :rock:rock:rock:rock:rock
I'd been wanting a version with a longer coat but couldn't bring myself to make one using the coat from 10 as

A) It wasn't entirely accurate
B) The idea of using something from 10 on a figure of Tom frankly repulses me

Doing head & hat swaps with the 4th Doctor heads is easy-ish though as the main head, the hair & hat are all seperate pieces that can be boil & popped.

Mine took quite a while to do as I was being extra careful not to rip anything and the unhatted hair needed heating up quite a bit so it could be shaped to fit on the smiling head properly but I got there in the end so I've now got all 4 combinations.
