Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Thats a GREAT pic Brendan! :rock

Thanks Marc, I'm soooo pleased with the first 3rd Doctor figure, CO have done another great job and after some worries about the likeness when I saw the initial pics I can now say that the headsculpt is definitely one of those that fits the "looks better in person " cliche and is umistakably Pertwee from all angles.

The Sea Devil looks much nicer in the darker green and I think I might repaint my other 3 to match it as best I can and also get some more accurate netting material and redo the costumes which I think are the worst thing CO have done in the Classic line so far.

More pics tomorrow!

Seconds after taking the pic of the Sea Devil the figure fell face down into the pond so the white costume now looks a tad more show accurate :D

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

so is that a "no" on new information on the tonner figures?

To be honest I don't really know with any degree of certainty as they aren't my thing but I've not noticed anything on the figure related threads on the fansites I visit.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Great photos bcm77.

I do really want the Pertwee figure - but I'm kind of stepping out of the arms race for this range now. It's one thing being able to pick him up for £8.99, but I can't really justify spending that much money. I've already skipped the first two Doctor sets for the same reason, and I have total buyer's remorse after I bought the two ltd edition Colins recently.

In general it seems to be a bit of a gamble buying these figures. Had I skipped the 4th Doctor at the time he was originally released, the 4-pack which was recently released would have been a bargain. But there is always the fear that if you don't buy them as you see them, they'll become rare as hen's teeth and you'll never, ever get one. So of course I ended up buying both the single carded one, and the 4 pack. And that's how they get you hooked.

So this time I'm gambling on Pertwee being available in some other form in the future, as envious of your photos as I am.

lack of info might be a bad sign. maybe it'll be cancelled. Tonner's site has been stagnant regarding this and Torchwood's announcement for a while now.

Tonner isn't my thing normally either, but I don't have room to collect a large line of Who stuff, so I hope the Tonner figure is nice then I just get that and it would be a simple 1 item collection to represent the Doctor.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I read on one of the threads last week that Tonner will debut them at TF 2010.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Kikk ass!!! :rock

Too bad it will also cost you a stamp to send it... although I guess you could always paypal me the nikkle, wonder how they would take 3% in fees :lol

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I think any cancellation of the Tonner figures would be a lot easier on people's eyes, and I'd say that even if it was the 4th Doctor they were making instead of THAT one who IMO has been overexposed already and doesn't need any more figures, whether proper ones or from Tonner.

DSD,
Glad you like the pics. I get what you're saying about the prices of the FPI Exclusives, I can't say I'm pleased with them myself but I'm still to be convinced CO will release any more Classics at retail so I'm not missing anything unless it's something I'm not bothered about such as the black & white Hartnell/Troughton sets and the variants of the 6th Doctor.
