Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Is the REAL TIME 6th Doctor worth getting?

I had one and thought it was very well done but I used it as part of a trade as the 6th Doctor isn't really a priority for me. It's well worth getting if you're a big fan of Colin though.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

That is fantastic!

Although I always wondered why he had a decayed robe as well.

Who cares. This is the first "proof" of a second series of Classic figures. Now, for the love of god Marc, get me pics of Eight. My second first Doctor :lol

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Ok folks. New rumor from "thespy"...

4 figures coming out early next year: Ten wearing brown suit (finally!), Eleven wearing Ten's tattered clothes, new version of the Master, and Timothy Dalton as a Time Lord.

I have an old ACTION FIGURE MONTHLY with a UK report that showed the one up Delgado Master in development. Can't wait:banghead

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

No, an old one that had GI Joe SIGMA SIX on the cover. Tomart's Action Figure Digest had a UK section back then. It was an overview of CO and sneak peaks of the figures.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Decayed Master pic doesn't work for me but even so I'm pleased to have some confirmation that it exists.

Come on CO, get a "Deadly Assassin" 4th Doctor made and overcharge us for the 2-pack via FPI :D

I got a message from FPI today saying my "Pyramids of Mars" 4th Doctor has been despatched :banana

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Cool news B.

New stuff from thespy... Aside from the 11 Doctors box set (which is available from Amazon.co.uk apparently for 50 pounds :horror) it looks like the individual release of McCoy (ie the one in cream jacket with hat and umbrella) will come with a classic Style (Mk III) Police Box. :joy

7th Doctor and Classic F'ing TARDIS? = Hell yeah!
( Mainly for the TARDIS but a less episode specific version of 7 will be cool too! )

£50 is better than I expected for the box set but not much and I might end up waiting for the sets to be split up and sold individually on ebay as I only really want the variants of Doctors 2-4.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

New detail rumors floating around this morning regarding the 11 Doctors box set saying that the third Doctor will be a repaint based on Carnival of Monsters, fourth doctor is based on Seeds of Doom, and Sixth doc being based on Trial of a Time Lord. Based on what thespy said about this set being 72% new figs and 18% re releases (which breaks down to 8 new or repainted figs) this is how I guess it will break down.

1 > As previously released
2 > As previously released
3 > Carnival of Monsters variant
4 > Seeds of Doom resculpt
5 > Caves of Androzani variant(with celery but no mud)
6 > Trial of a Timelord variant
7 > Ghost Light new sculpt (no hat or umbrella)
8 > TV Movie new sculpt
9 > As previously released
10 > End of Time repaint
11 > New series new sculpt.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

Not a bad possible lineup Marc, here's my thoughts,

1st Doctor = ebay or I'd make a cloak for it.
2nd Doctor = An extra one wouldn't go amiss.
3rd Doctor = Hope it has the cloak.
4th Doctor = Bring it on!
5th Doctor = ebay.
6th Doctor = I could possibly repaint the head into a "70's Porn" version of Colin :D
7th Doctor = Intrested to see how good the likeness is.
8th Doctor = I want the other version more but if it's different enough I'd keep it.
9th Doctor = ebay unless the paint apps are better than on the one I've already got.
10th Doctor = ebay/charity shop/bonfire/anywhere but in my collection.
11th Doctor = Was originally intending to stick it on ebay but now I'm giving his Doctor a chance I'll possibly keep it.

One other thought occurs about a possible "Seeds of Doom" 4th Doctor,

If it happens could this mean the long rumored Krynoid BAF may also be on the cards?

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

And the latest BS rumor is,

CO have done a deal with 2entertain who make the Classic DVD's for the BBC to release some Classic companions in special sets with certain related DVD's. There will no companions released at retail.

That's the plausible part but the choice of characters that the person that posted this info ( who claims he got it from a relative who works for CO ) is suggesting is IMO highly dubious,

Adric
Jo Grant
Peri
Ace

I call BS. Adric would sell to approx 3 people even as an Exclusive and the others are hardly names that spring to mind when considering that CO would go for the safest choices possible for the first lot of companions.

Re: New Doctor Who Figures?

I would very happily buy an Adric figure, but yeah, total BS rumor.

I was thinking you'd buy one when I typed that as I'd also buy one as so there must be at least 1 other Adric fan out there, Matthew Waterhouse maybe? :)

I can believe the no companions at retail bit but unless CO really have lost the plot or can't get the rights for certain likenesses I can't see the first companions being anyone other than the following possible choices,

Sarah Jane ( CO presumably already have the likeness rights and the character was paired with the most popular Classic Doctor so is the safest choice possible. )

Leela with K9 ( Scantily clad female figures do well with geeks of all ages and K9 is already sculpted. )

The Brigadier ( Has been associated with the show longer than any other companion/ally. )

Susan ( The very first. )
